    Quickdraw Blog. BANG!

Heya folks! This will be a quick blog, more rapid update outta necessity than witty commentary, so i'll cut straight to the chase. I've got good and bad news. The good, in my opinion, outweight the bad! But you be the judge:

It Cuts Like a Knife; It Might Leave You Bleeding

Story reviews are interesting because, sure, you can use them to know if a certain book will be the right one for you? But I feel they’re more useful when the review is in itself a tool to talk about storytelling in general. You review a book, but the book is a jumping-off point to discuss what it means to have good pacing; stuff like that.

A Full Year of Only Mondays

Good morning. This is, from my point of view, a comedy blog. From the point of view of my family and loved ones, it's a horror story.

I'm so fucking back, baby. Hi, all. Did you miss me? I know I did.

Sailor Moon -- from Gay to Gayer · 9:12pm Dec 9th, 2017

Yeah no I'm not kidding. That's, like, a thing. We're discussing high-end literature today.

So. I'll be the guest in this week's Barcast. It'll start at 7pm EST, and you can ask anything for me to talk about it in this thread.

Why is this coming up? 'Cause this is the question MrNumbers asked:

Sailor Moon was the show I probably watched the most during my childhood ('cause, well, the reruns kept fucking coming no matter what), so that's sort of a big deal. I'm drawing charts over here to keep check of who's what and why, god damn.

So, yeah. Wanna hear my extremely sensual voice, and extremely awkward accent? Check the podcast. Want to ask me something? Ask away. Want to hear a Sailor Moon rant?

...Well, go there, I guess. I won't be accurate, as I'm mostly working on nostalgia here, but hey. I guess, if you're bored enough.

[UPDATE] And here it is!

See ya there!

(Also, yes, it's obviously Uranus and Neptune -- but like, one you count those out who's the gaye--fuck no it'd totally be Bunny. Okay so after that who is it. Who's the gayest in this extremely gay show.)

I would put the Sailor Stars pretty high on the list following I think Malachite thought he wasn't a scout

You know Usagi's the only one to canonically have a boyfriend, right?

She's definitely bi, don't get me wrong, but she'd be pretty low on the gay scale compared to the others.

Now, Chibiusa...

You’re most likely the gayest person in Sailor Moon.

Huh. I never got into the show, but this didscussion has me interested.

Is Crystal included? Because that's just a whole new level.

The queen of gay magical girl anime definetly goes to Revolutionary Girl Utena, though.

A little tidbit. The director of several seasons of SM really gayed up the relationship between Usagi and Rei, and lessened Mamoru's role. The producers got sick of that and told him to stop. Displeased, he left around Stars.

What did he go on to direct next? Utena.

4745010 Sailor Jupiter had an ex boyfriend she was forever mooning on about iirc.

No, I don't know why this is something I remember

True, but she was a serial comparist. "He reminds me of my old boyfriend in X way." More in love with the idea of said dude then the dude himself. Also she lived alone, without parents, none of the other gals technically did that.

Well, let's see :
(And sorry if I have forgotten this or that about a show I watched more than twenty years ago)

Mercury was a total wallflower, yet she eventually got one of the Star Lights to look at her.

Venus was every stereotype of a boy crazy blonde. And had a serious crush in a male police officer back in France.

Moon and Earth did marry each other, and even had a daughter to show for it.

Chibi Usa is straight, and is a bit disturbing in her Elektra complex.

Mars was bisexual, even through her denial about being attracted to Moon, yet she was looking for a man. Remember that Shaggy that came to work at her temple, who she treated just like she treats Moon?

I'm pretty sure that Jupiter is as straight as an arrow. She is, after all, completely fixated on her senpai and keeps looking for him in other men.

Who knows about Saturn. That girl needs therapy, as otherwise, she is likely to latch into whoever makes a move on her, and endure any degree of abuse.

Uranus and Neptune are gay. And an item. Duh.

Pluto is the most likely to be asexual. As is, she has had millenia to try everything, and to get tired of outliving her partners. Forget asexual : she's got to be a hermit!

It is quite common for straight girls to dance with each other. Especially nowadays.

4745084
That explains a lot.

When everyone's gay, no one will be.
no wait thats stupid

4745158
sorry i can't hear you over how gay they are

I never saw this show as a kid weirdly enough. I did see a bunch of other old anime, Medabots, Bakugan, Dragonball/Z, Kochikame, Mermaid Melody, my childhood was an interesting one.

4745084
And then he made the gayest anime in the last few years and it was amazing

I've heard that in the version fed us in the USA Neptune and Uranus are just really friendly cousins.

(I couldn't figure out how to make it a "really good friends" crack...)
