Letters arc complete and posting Monday with Chapter 10 of The Knight, The Fey Maiden, and the Bridge Troll too

I have up to Chapter 99 complete in Letters From a Little Princess Monster, which is a little embarrassing since I *started* the arc in the middle of Covid season. It could have graduated from several universities in that time. Rather than tease bits out of it like I have before, I'm just going to go straight into my daily publishing routine and let you catch up on where I am on The Knight, The

Sun will be down for maintenance on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience. --NASA

Here's a story by Estee you can read to take up the time until the Sun is all tuned up and returned to operation.

EA Total Eclipse Of The Fun
The second anniversary of the Return is approaching, and all Luna wants for the celebration is one thing -- something Equestria hasn't seen in more than a thousand years. This could be a problem.

    Big Leather Egg Sunday

A reminder (as John Cleese put it) that today is Big Leather Egg Sunday, and to celebrate, I'm linking the Best Football MLP story of all time by Kris Overstreet. Starring... Rarity?

    Goodbye Toby Keith, American Legend

Undoubtedly, if Toby Keith had ever done a tour in Equestria, Applejack would have been right there in the front row, whoopin' and a hollerin' as loud as possible. I think every high school in the US had a proud friendly guy like this, and we raise our red Solo cups in tribute to his last beer run. Salute!

New Year 2024- New Projects 1939

Still working on everything else this year, but I've got a sequel/prequel to Equestria: 1940 in the works, both a series of short stories set in the 1940 world up to the Equestrian moon project, and a war story showing some behind the scenes details about the war. For a little country the size of Ohio in the northern Atlantic, it has a lot of potential. Explosive, mostly. Snippets after the

The Lazy Georg of Fimfiction · 10:13pm Nov 6th, 2017

Something I just found out: EqD does not accept unrelated story compilations.
The Lazy Dragon of Dragonvale is an unrelated story compilation (with only one story)
Solution: Mark it complete and resubmit, publishing other children’s related stories as new stories (but linking them together in the notes so people can find them)
Amount of work required: Very little

So… I’ve marked The Lazy Dragon of Dragonvale as complete.  When (not if) I publish more ‘Read Aloud To Your Children’ stories, I’ll link them in the notes and send out a notification.  This way, people who only read stuff that shows up on EqD will be able to enjoy the story, as well as Jake the Army Guy’s excellent reading

New Link (because I had to change the name)

To be fair i'm skeptical there's many folks who only read EQD stuff these days but good policy either way.

4718940 There's probably a half-dozen good reasons to make it a standalone: People don't like to read stories that are not marked complete, there's a sharp falloff in readership after chapter 1 if chapter 2 is produced several months later, a second story such as The Practical Pony Prince of Prance might not appeal to quite the same demographic, I may not make a second chapter nearly as good as this one, or worse, my second chapter could be a work of genius, and only people who have read the first one would see it.

Oh, wait. Scratch that last one. Never happen.

Not many who only read EqD recommendations, but enough who take EqD recommendations seriously and are more likely to read something if they see it there.

Now i have to change the link in my review! D: Dah!

I can corroborate that. I had this story in my Tracking, because I almost never read Incomplete stories, even if they're vignettes, but I moved it into Read it Later now.

haven't you learned? EqD isn't worth trying to please.

4719291 Huh. Well, that's unexpectedly nifty. Learn something new every day.
4719093 Currently, I have pleased them seventeen times with one failure, and several that I think are just a little too dirty to send them.
4719009 Thanks! It's not really that long, and has a wonderful reading on YouTube if you want.
4718971 See above note. Seems the story ID is the key. Things I never knew.

I was linking to the chapter, which I never do with solo stories. :B

Just don't forget:

To resubmit the story to EqD so I can go through the proper process of sending it on to the blog for posting.

Mike

4720158 Oh, heck. Yeah. You know, some day's I'm lazier than that dragon. Or less organized.

4720350

Y'know:

Now that I actually look at the EqD spreadsheet, I see that we put "Lazy Dragon" in a pending status. So now that you've changed it to a standalone, I can send it on to the blog without you needing you to resubmit it. Organization!

Mike

4721098 Procrastination rocks! Yea!

Thanks, Mike.

4718940 FYI: the most referrals that show up in my statistics sidebar for Lazy is EqD at 331. The second one is Harwick's site at 65. So it counts, and personally, I think the statistics sidebar doesn't count some clicks, so I'm hedging to a larger number there.
