Countdown to Legend of Everfree: 10 days

Countdown to Yo-Kai Watch 2: 9 days

And now, some announcements and general ramblings. First (and priority, so it goes above the cut):

GenerousGypsy is offering art commissions. If you're interested, click here for the details.

And now, more stuff.

Tomorrow will be the 500th daily posting of OOCSST. To commemorate, I'm planning a special ten-day event. Those who can count quickly in your head may notice that this means the event will run until the premiere date of Legend of Everfree. This is a coincidence, but an awesome one. The nature of this special event will be revealed tomorrow.

And now, some commentary on a few things I've watched lately, including one from last week I should have mentioned sooner:

Captain America: Civil War: I finally saw this on Thursday and I absolutely loved it. I especially loved the scenes that introduced the latest movie version of Spider-Man. THEY FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT! *weeps openly*

I'm glad that Sony is now only distributing Spidey movies and all creative control has been passed over to Marvel. Having Spidey in the MCU is what we've needed for almost a decade now. (Jesus, it's been almost a decade. :pinkiegasp:) I love the actor playing Peter. I love the chemistry he has with RDJ's Tony Stark. I FULLY support the casting of Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and I agree 100% with the logic behind a younger Aunt May--when you think about it, May and Ben being old as butt NEVER made sense! I am honestly looking forward to Spider-Man: Homecoming next year.

Zootopia: Watched this on Netflix last night and it was amazing. Yes, it took me this long to get around to watching Zootopia. I'm actually glad I waited, because now that it's on Netflix I can watch it as much as I want without having to pay On Demand rental fees for it. And I plan to watch it at least a few more times in the next few weeks. It is just such an awesome movie and there's just so much going on there to love.

Scream Queens season two: So Scream Queens is a show that premiered on Fox last year and I missed the entire first season. I remember having a vague interest in it but then kinda forgetting it existed and not bothering to watch it. I barely caught the season premiere last night, and since Scream Queens is similar to its sister series AHS in that it mostly reinvents itself from season to season, jumping in at season two only loses you the backstory of the returning characters--but the show itself does quite a bit to reintroduce the characters in a "those of you just joining us" way so that you're not lost. And there are plenty of new characters and the setting is new. What drew me to this is the solid casting: Jamie Lee Curtis, Kirstie Alley, and John Stamos, just to name a few.

What hooked me in the first ten minutes is how amazingly corky this show is. It revels in its over-the-top hilarity and cheesiness. This show is everything MTV's Scream should have been but wasn't, and it is a nonstop laugh riot. It never takes itself seriously, and you can laugh along with it right up until the bloodbath starts. It is gloriously corky and the cast NAILS their performances and I love it and will be watching every week.

My favorite part of Civil War was that when the movie finished, I couldn't for the life of me work out who actually won.

Civil War and Zootopia; two awesome movies. Judy's almost lethal levels of cute.

Yes, but Steve still saved Bucky's life, which was his goal through the entire movie. Tony lost, I'm not contending that, but it's more difficult to point to one person and decide whether or not they had a full victory.

4219809 Nobody really "won". This wasn't the kind of thing where there's a winner or a loser. But if you're one of those people who just HAS to declare a "winner", the winner is Zemo, because he got exactly what he was after: he destroyed the Avengers.

4219822 Now with the color commentary out of the way:

:ajbemused: "Pinkie any further and it'll count as incest."
:pinkiesmile: "You know what they say: Incest is best cest!"

Apparently, here in England, Yo-kai Watch 2 isn't being released until next year...:flutterrage:

:ajbemused:: "For your sake, I hope you're just squeezing lemons."
:pinkiehappy:: *nervous laugh*

Nothing to comment on beyond the image:

"This ain't my hat. This ain't my hat at all."

:trollestia:: "I can confirm: What Pinkie Pie says is true."

Zootopia's on Netflix? I guess I'm watching that tonight.

Ah, Captain America: Civil War.

One of the best superhero movies has ever made.

Honestly, I actually like Toby Maguire's Spider-Man a lot. But I do agree that Tom Holland makes an overall better one.

Pinkie, whatever you're thinkin' of doin', don't! :ajbemused:

Pinkie, when ah said "put the pussy on my sideburns", ah didn't actually mean it!

My birthday was last week. I was more excited for the New EG movie than my own birthday

Sweetlips is in my own county. It doesn't sound lewd to me.

:pinkiecrazy: "Two in the Pinkie one in the stinky!"

:applejackconfused:

:ajbemused: "Pinkie, fer the last time, mah head ain't a perch!"
:pinkiecrazy: "Chirp chirp!"
Also, here's to your 500th OOCSST tomorrow.:pinkiehappy::yay:

The countdown carries on.
