Now, some of you might remember my story Twilight's Twinlight?
Well, as for the name the mane character, Twilight's double, will go by now that she's living in equestria, i was wondering what you all think about Vesper Radiance?
Would you be okay with that or would you rather something else?
If the latter, give me some options to chose from
Also, please check this out. I don't want this blog overshadowing that one
sounds great to me
Um… well, as far as taking the name of the villainous Sunset Shimmer from Sunset of Time goes… I'm going to recommend that you not do that.
If you absolutely must have a Twilight Sparkle synonym, maybe play off the fact that most of them are Dusk-related, and go for the Dawn ones as a sort of "same, but opposite" since twilght actually covers both? "Dawn" in particular is feminine, but fairly strong-sounding, and it's also a real human name, so he might like it? Maybe even swap the order, and do something like "Gleaming Dawn"? I'm not actually that good with pony names, but there has to be something…
Why not just their regular name?
well Sunset Shimmer is a twist to Twilight Sparkle now we have Starlight Glimmer also a twist to Twilight.
so staying with the name and or twist of.
ok I know this sounds supper corny Moonglow. or and this is a much better name . evening primrose witch is a flower in real life.
evening primrose
and no I have not read this story as of yet it is on my list.
You could try Vesper Gloaming, which translates to "twilight twilight". There's also Crepuscule Gaeity, which is less of a direct translation, but it sounds neat to me. There are only so many synonyms for a word, and not all of them sound tasteful, so finding a pony name which is pleasant to pronounce is bit of a difficult task, especially if you are slightly critical of the name and wish to stand out from the pack a bit (like me if I ever get around to actually writing something). Of course, if It of lesser importance to you, there's always the option of deciding upon a more commonly used name amalgamation . It shouldn't really matter, so long as you are happy with the resulting moniker for your magnificent mare.
Also, I would like to offer another route of character christening- Be it by the character themselves, not by whom they are mimicking in their appearance. I am sure this copy is enough of an original to warrant a notable characteristic or two, which they could derive their name from. I've not yet read the story, so I say this without knowing how paramount to the plot this particular nomenclature would be.
Do with that what you will.
Moonlight Glister.
Aurora Star might work.
Vesper Newton. The mad scientist that achieved immortality... It costs him his humanity, thou.
Here's his art-card, in-game standing animation and sprite sheet:

Afterglow, Eventide, and Nightfall are all pretty good synonyms of Twilight if that's what you really want to go for. Just throwing out my two cents.
Huh. I've actually read a story where the name Vespertine is used by Twilight when she pops up in her past selves head because of broken time loops. (Needles to say, Twilight is a lot different and a lot older due to time loops, so she trolls the shit out of herself and her friends.)
hate to say it, but it doesn't feel fluid. One, the color is wrong. second, the theme, radiance seems closer aligned to the sun, and twilight's parents are twilight velvet and night light. Starlight Velvet would work better, or star for short. I recommend that because it fits the family theme better. Starshine Velvet and Aurora Velvet would work too.

Not according to the show. Their names are Mr. Sparkle and Mrs Sparkle.

Expand on the more info page. That was caused by poor communication between writers.
And furthering my reasoning, Vesper sounds more like a monsters name, or a villain. Radiance does not fit the color scheme either.

I'm fond of just "Vespertine" myself. Most pony names in the show are three or four syllables, and it has the same stress pattern as "Rarity". Though, given the Latin roots of the name it's entirely possible it would have the social connotation of a maiden great aunt's name, like Agnes or Dolores in the US. "Daybreak Dazzle" could be a trendy name that gets rejected for sounding like "a background pony."
Taking one of the Rule 63 names for Shining Armor could work too: Sparkling Aegis, Gleaming/Gloaming Shield, etc.
Another Idea, Dawn Sparkle. Just as a parallel to twilight.
