As many may have become aware, aside from the latest chapter to I'm Peni Parker. What the FUCK? I haven't updated any of my fics since last week, despite saying in my latest update for Peni that i intended to return to posting fic updates.
This has been for several reasons, though one more pressing is, the day after I posted the update to Peni's fic, i found out i'm sharing my room with an unwanted roommate of the rodent variety.
I has been surprisingly hard to focus on writing knowing i need to be weary in my own bedroom now in order to be sure not to accidentally step on or startled the little pest.
and it's either a very clever or very lucky pest two. it's set off the mouse trap twice and gotten away, the second time my actually seeing it as it ran away from said trap.
and, last night, it was as the little shit was mocking me. it came out of what i've now confirmed is its likely hiding place and spent several seconds walking around the trap, sniffing at the peanut butter laid on it, then went straight back to its hiding place.
several times it's come out, walked around for a bit, then gone back into hiding, never once just going right for the trap and getting caught.
I hate the fact it's been almost an entire week and the rodent is still in my room. I can't believe how hard it's been to focus on writing just because it's still hiding in my room.
thankfully, i think i've managed to corner it slightly.
its hiding place is under a shelf with, as far as i can tell, only one way out for my unwanted roommate and i've blocked off half of the exit, so it has only a small area to get out now, which leads directly to the trap.
now, it's just an annoying matter of waiting for the little pest to get hungry enough, come out, follow the path it has to and finally get caught.
only once it's finally been caught do i think i'll be able to get a proper night's rest again and be able to actually continue writing.

Good luck , i do prefer sticky traps if you need to remove the body . or Tomcat from tractor supply works really good, i have it in my horse stable.
Glue boards > Traditional spring traps.
I recently had the same problem what i did is use the black plastic snap traps at that they have to stick their head into the hole to get the food, ( i used dog food) i also had it set up in one of those boxes that had see through plastic and only one end opened. I had a bunch come in because of winter. The trick is to make to where the rodent can't access it from the sides or from behind. Though glue traps work just as well in the box, i use a piece of dry dog food as bait they love it.
I feel for you dude. I would lie awake listening to every friggin sound in my bedroom if that happened to me.
I once saw a youtube channel specifically talked about mouse traps. Maybe you might get some idea on how to deal with your pest.
