The End is Neigh · 9:35pm Mar 12th, 2015

You have my leave to open fire at that crappy pun.

Stick around to the end for a small announcement.

You all know it's coming. Frequency ends today, and I move on to other things. There's been some interesting debate in the story's comments, which is always great to see, and hopefully I can make more stories that achieve the same thing. My thanks to everyone who read it and stuck through this journey with Vinyl, Adi and Flash! I hope the ending is satisfying to all of you, and I hope the message has been well received.

One of the things I really liked from a technical standpoint is the fast schedule: I set the story to update once every nine days, and stuck to it to achieve a pretty fast conclusion relative to most. As such, I'm thinking my next batch of FIMFiction stories will follow a similar method. Order of Shadows may stick to the exact same update speed – it's going to need it, considering how long I expect it to be.

Will I be writing another HiE? Not likely. I only wrote this one with the hope of doing it a little different from the norm, which is the closest I'll get to any bandwagon. I suppose the flash Sentry-focused side story I've got in mind could count, since it would inevitably join together with Frequency at some point, but meh. For now, consider my foray into HiE territory done.

In other news, I've decided to join this month's Writeoff Contest, as put on by The Writeoff Association. It's been a lot of fun and I have high expectations for the placement of my first entry. The only problem is that I have to wait for two weeks without telling anyone which story entry is mine. It goes a really long way towards establishing fairness and I like the idea in general, but I can't stand the waiting.

Anyway, I've decided that, should I compete in multiple writeoffs (and I think that's likely), I'l start posting the shorts in a 'collection' story here on FIMFiction. They'll all be 400-750 word snippets, completely unedited from how they were in the contest. I figure people might like to see it, and if not it'll at least make for a nice repository for the wayward, curious internet traveler.

A Public Schedule
Given how busy I've been lately with a wide range of projects and the occasional request from people to edit/preread stories, I've been finding my time more and more reduced. I've always had a schedule for when to release my stories, but now I find it necessary to also schedule my editing and prereading responsibilities. Of course, people may still want to ask me to do some of these things, and I'm loath to turn them down, so I've decided to make my master schedule public.

This does a number of things. For one, there will be no ambiguity about when chapters and stories will be released. If you want to know, just check the schedule. Also, it lets those I'm editing/prereading for know when they can expect their requested job to be completed. At the moment, I'm limiting these kinds of jobs to one for every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, simply in an attempt to keep the amount down and let me work on my top priority: my own material. If you want to ask for my help, I strongly suggest checking the schedule first: the jobs will be strictly on a first-come, first-serve basis and if there's six people in line you could be waiting a long time. For everyone I'm currently supposed to be doing work for, your jobs are already in the schedule.

In the past few months I've come to learn one thing: I'm very good at keeping my deadlines. So I figured why not make the most of that? The title of the 'schedule' section below contains the link.

One last thing: Of Angels has been submitted to EqD. Let's see how forgiving they are of colored text, shall we?

Moar purdy piccurs!

Not sure how I feel about it being the last chapter. Its a pretty good story after all.

I am... at ease. There's something incredibly pleasant about finishing a story. I'm excited but calm at the same time, and looking forward to whatever comes next.

I really hope Of Angels makes it onto EqD. You deserve it!

Why, thank you! :pinkiehappy:

Moved this from my watch list to my favorites. It was that good.

I just finished Siren Song by GaPJaxie and am in the middle of The Heart of an Author by Oroboro. But after I that, I'll move on to Frequency.

Also, this is a small gripe, but is there any chance that you could put the chapter numbers on your update schedule? I would very much like to know how many chapters each story has.

2871035
Glad you thought so! I'm quite proud of it.

2871066
I look forward to your commentary.

You could just look at my primary schedule to see that information, but I suppose it's not too hard to go in and add a few extra chapters.

PS, the number of chapters in Frequency was intentional.

Wait, Frequency is already drawing to a close? I haven't even started! :pinkiegasp: It's been on the readlater list, but the daily grind leaves no time. However, I have complete and utter faith that this story is nothing short of spectacular, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to save it. :rainbowlaugh: I truly look forward to beginning this story, so the comment section in the chapters won't be quiet while I'm reading.

And where the heck is this "primary schedule" you speak of?

. . . oh. I see it. Never mind.

2871087
Great! Comment! comment every chapter! I love comments! They're like heroine, only less deadly.

Woo! Now that it is finished, I can read it. Lets see how it turned out. Certainly liked the premise.

2872252
Just don't read the comments. Spoilerific!

2872263
Do people actually do that? I mean, why would you read the comments for a story before reading the story itself? Unless you wanted spoilers. That's always baffled me. I mean, I always assume that the discussion/comments of a story will have spoilers about said story.

2872271
Yes, people actually do it. I don't mind spoilers too much; sometimes I'll go into the comments just to see what the general consensus is. But there are some people who get all grumpy and snarky when they discover – :pinkiegasp: – someone dared to leave spoilers in the comments! The blasphemy, the inhumanity, the sheer disrespect!

So yeah, there are people out there for whom it's an issue. Knuckleheads.

2872281
Warning: story contains spoilers.

I still need to read three chapters before it or something.:facehoof:

2871101
Gladly! I'll be your enabler for this one time. :rainbowlaugh:
