Is it wrong to crossover your own work? · 3:24am Jun 11th, 2014
I am thinking about having Discord and Charis go to Tartarus. While there, they might run into Rookwood and Hades, from To Dance in Shadows.
Actually, I might have Discord go traveling through various universes and visit a number of characters. I don't know yet. Seems like self wankery.
Go right ahead! The point of characters is to have them do things, no? Let them interact between themselves, even if they are from different continuities.
I've seen an author have a bunch of mostly unrelated stories that all took place in the same universe and sometimes interacted with each other. So basically, shouldn't be an issue at all.
Nope, that's what's called a [so 'n so's username] verse, it can happen with stories that are sequels, prequels and one-shots to each other that share no, some, or all characters, or, as you have, just connect stories for one reason or another.
I am in favor
Sounds like solid beginnings of a kudzuverse to me.
One more in favor.
You're writing for fun and entertainment. Is it fun and entertaining? I think so. Do you think so? If so, then do it.
If you think you're writing the next great American novel, then you desperately need to see a proctologist about removing your cranium from your rectum(My creative writing teacher actually told us this on our first class).
Also, at some point.. Discord, Charis, Hades or Rookwood needs to make a joke about 'slipping Luna/Celestia the bone'. Also, I forgot to ask Discord something in the Ask the Cast blog:
Is Pinkie Pie a larval Draconequus?

Aaaand I have a new headcanon now. Thanks for that
i would prefer you don't. crossovers between works can be nice, but at the same time it can feel horrible for those who haven't read the other stories
2197467 That actually make a ton of sense.
I prefer you don't unless there's a clear timeline and enough justification to list one as a prequel. It sucks to feel lost in the middle of a fanfiction through no fault of my own. See: this platinum crown did it terribly and the response from everyone who wasn't in the loop was terrible.
"If you have it, flaunt it" or so the saying goes! Also completely unrelated but have you hear this song before?
i feel like its not really crossing over your stories as much as it is setting your stories in one universe, unless they say it is different dimensions
I say go for it. There's no shame in a consistent setting that's bigger than one story.

I agree.
