HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
no
EDIT: For all the slow ones, if hilarity does indeed ensue, you shouldn't have to say it. Case in point, me.

I think Dennis might have had a little too much to drink.
Oh, get it. It's kinda like this:

So I guess this is National Act Like a Dick Day.
Good point, considering most of those stories aren't even funny
Every bad comedy's tagline.
i ain't even mad!
You never hear about much else ensuing, do you? It's pretty much just hilarity and tragedy.
Go home Dennis, you're drunk
This post and comments are ironically ensuing, and most certainly hilarious.
And then I posted a link to fetish clop.
I lied.
I see that sentence in too many comedy fics on this site. Honestly, most of them didn't live up to my expectations like the sentence said it would.
Don't even care!
hah U fuh-knee-gai.
I think he's saying that he doesn't like the term "hilarity ensues" probably thinks it's cheap or a cop-out
Haha yeah, I've noticed that too. I might make a tongue-in-cheek fic about cliches like that titled "hilarity ensures" or something, because those seem to be popular these days (Like the sideways hats and the jazz music and the tennis shoes)

"What's the worst that could happen?"

Oh god I hate that
this post would be funny if it wasn't so confusing to me.
My time was taken away.
And then forced back into my unready body.
I like the new avatar cover you got

"Things didn't turn out the way she planned"
How about "Awkwardness ensues"? I don't think I'd seen that anywhere before. Although if the comments are to be believed, it did turn out rather funny.
First off yes it's meaningless but that's the point. It doesn't mean anything, it's all about about what comes before. If the description before the line is actually funny or confusing enough you might actually believe it. Or you can invert in entirely and suddenly it means something by meaning nothing.
This is the story of the world after it ends. A few survivors fighting against a hostile world that wants them dead. There is no hope of restoration, only living another day or two. Hilarity ensues.
So yes, sometimes saying nothing works because it sets the tone. Hilarity Ensues is the equivilent of "then they did exciting things" for an adventure fic. It doesn't mean anything, but it doesn't have to be pointless. Also Pinkie ending a plan with "hilarity ensues" can be a great joke, especially if the plan is supposed to do something not just useful but important.
