My problem with 'Anon' is that it's supposed to imply the character is a random or blank insert self character, like Bella Swan. I would much rather the 2nd person perspective stories where the character is referred to as 'you' all the time over Anon.
Jarring when the self insert does something completely different than the audience, at least for me. It would be much better just to give the character a real name and personality to care about than to short cut it with, "this is you."

I concur. Also, the standard rule 63 names for the Mane 6 have got to go. If nothing else, it would be fun to see the fanon rage leveled against someone who didn't use Dusk Shine or Elusive.

I do feel like I've seen more of those, recently, for some reason.
So my friend had to come up with a pen name for himself for something, and he decided on Anon Y. Mous. Anon is first name, Y. is middle initial (doesn't stand for anything, like Harry S. Truman) and Mous (pronounced like moose I guess) as last name.

I've always assumed "Anon" was some sort of internet troll character, like 4chan personified. The only thing I hate more than the "anonymous" stories are stories that use second-person. I really don't understand how anyone could actually read those. "You are mysteriously transported to Equestria." No, I wasn't. I would definitely remember something like that.
