Just a quick note... · 7:35pm February 20th
To thank everyone who replied on my previous blog. The outpouring of support I received was very much appreciated, and very much needed for the mood I was in. I will take pains to reply to everyone that commented in the next few days, but first I wanted to make an announcement that I’m sure a significant number of readers will be eager to hear:
I have decided that the Firefly series will resume later this year with a brand new story, probably in time for the original story’s 8-year 7-year launch anniversary on September 1st.
The reason is twofold: First, it’ll have been well over a year since the last story concluded, leaving readers (I hope) hungry for more, and second, I find that I really need a consistent non-clop option to write for when I’m not in the mood to work on anything M-rated. So be ready to welcome back Firefly, Fell Flight, Wind Whistler, Blindside, Swift Strike, Thunderbolt, and Sky Sentry along with a slew of supporting characters as the second week of the Great Pony/Gryphon war begins.
Planned highlights are the continued fighting withdrawal of future General Rock Biter and the remnants of the Equestrian Army 1st Corps towards Detrot, a major naval action with a very definite historical analog, the founding of the Bolt Knights (future Wonderbolts) and of course, the entry of the Nightborne and Highborne thestrals into the war on different sides.
I’ll start work on it sometime mid-summer, most likely. In the meantime, there’s plenty more Feathered Hearts and Unleash the Magic goodness ahead. With regards to C&C, I have also decided that I am through explaining and justifying the sex in the story. From here on out, anybody who complains will be pointed back at the last blog post without further comment. I’m tired of dealing with it.
As for UtM, I’m still not quite ready with the revamped Midnight Rising chapter, which is now over 20,000 words(!)—5k more than previously. But I do think it takes care of all the issues the old version had. I’m going to try to get it to prereaders no later than tomorrow evening, and then launched inside of a week.
Tagging this under C&C since a good chunk of the blog was about it, and because I know that many readers of Feathered Hearts also follow Firefly.
And for those of who you don’t? Well, if you want all the worldbuilding, combat and character development of C&C/Eros without the clop or even much in the way of romance, this is the story series for you.

Glad to hear you're feeling better(-ish) I'll look forward to seeing your new story. And if you want some arts or minor audio dubbing, I know the last project we worked on together fell through the cracks, but I really did enjoy it, so yeah.
