I Was Wrong · 5:04pm Oct 18th, 2023

https://www.dailywire.com/news/voice-actress-tara-strong-fired-from-animated-series-after-sharing-pro-israel-posts

I was stupid. She paid the price for supporting people who are literally defending themselves from vicious terrorist bastards who literally rape women and murder babies.

Sigh.

We all make mistakes in life. Sometimes one has to just take a step back and take a look at things around them no matter how emotional or crazy things are in this world. But you saw and you acknowledge and one can never do is acknowledge and move on with one's life. Glad to still have you around friend.

Looks like I won't be watching "Boxtown".

Who is the production company of "Boxtown"?

It's one thing to condemn the use of war crimes. It's another thing entirely to condemn a nation for striking back against a terrorist organization who targeted civilians and kidnap people, especially when said nation did what they could to reduce civilian casualties.

At least you had the chops to admit that you were wrong. All too many people can't do that any more, and it's definitely one of the things that's making everything else so much worse these days.

You admitted you were wrong. That takes some serious fucking guts and dignity. Also, fuck the people behind Boxtown who fired her.

I'm gonna be honest I don't think I'm informed enough to fully put my 2 bits in, but mistakes happen, "To err is human...". Great to see you sticking around.

To admit you were wrong takes guts... l have known people who have stubbornly refused to admit their mistake, and only kept digging their hole even deeper... so you have my respect for admitting that you were wrong.... and good to know that l should avoid Boxtown and the ones who makes it, since they support terrorists.

I think that is the exact post I read when I made my post on your other blog. Feel like an idiot not posting the link, but hindsight.

edit: nvm it was a different site but basically the same info

Wow.

I mean, it's a real relief that Tara's not lost to the madness, but of course this sequence of events would have a bad-tasting conclusion.

No good deed goes unpunished.
No good word, too, I suppose.

Thanks for the follow-up post.

So is this what you do now instead of writing fics?

This whole situation is just so absolutely shitty.

The Israeli government isn't exactly a paragon of morality and has no small amount of Palestinian blood on its hands, but Hamas is the worst of the worst. They're an ISIS/Boko Haram level of evil. Even if one sympathizes with the Palestinian people like I do, Hamas is absolutely not the organization to cheer for. They deserve to be wiped off the face of the earth, every last one of them.

But innocent Israelis and Palestinians are going to be caught in the crossfire, many will die, and many more will have their lives ruined. There will be no winners in this conflict, only innocents suffering.

And then you have Tara, who has family in Israel and who is Jewish by heritage, and is undoubtedly hurting with all of this going on. In the heat of the moment, she made a series of posts to a popular social media website that is just full of garbage from top to bottom, and she made the mistake of not putting everything into one singular post. Just that, a mistake, nothing more. As a result, her individual statements were yanked out of context and taken at face value rather than read with the broader series of posts in mind, and she was targeted for it.

That's right, kids: every author has a solemn duty to pump out stories to please... you. Authors don't really exist otherwise in the world, right? I mean, you don't see them, so if they're not writing for you, they don't deserve a minimum level of respect as human beings. Good grief.

This is why I like to keep MLP separate from real life. It's my escape. I think you need to keep it that way.

Basically my feelings as well. I'm pro-Palestinian freedom, which makes me a target of everyone because I'm extremely anti-Hamas and against the extremist Muslim views of the average Palestinian. The fact that people have been beheaded in Palestine for being gay angers me more than I can describe.

What Hamas did was so evil that it effectively ended any hope Palestine had for freedom, and I say that as pro-Palestinian. If the average Palestinian wasn't that conservative, it'd be easier for the West to take them all as refugees, so I don't see bringing them being a popular option. And the Arab nations are so evil that they're not going to accept their fellow Muslim "brothers and sisters" as refugees.

We have a population of millions that no one wants and are mostly teens and kids. If you bring them in, you invite extremist views and future violence. If you don't invite them, you effectively allow their execution. What a fucking shitty situation we allowed.

Actual news from the Daily Wire. Guess even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

There will never be peace in the Middle East. Billions of years from now, when the Earth is hurtling towards the Sun and nothing is left but a few microbes, the microbes in the Middle East will be bitter enemies.

Dave Barry (half-remembered)

Media outlets have used sensationalism, misleading titles, out-of-context sound bites, and outright falsification for decades to drum up attention and audience numbers. What was true then is still true now (and double-especially for social media): always check the source because the people reporting may directly profit from lying to you and will not face real consequences for doing so.

The lesson from these two blogs was to check context before overreacting. Here's the context to the post you responded to:
https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/1024487/im-done

It's been a good run... But 'm done.

If you can side with terrorists who murder babies and rape women and want to exterminate the Jews, go fuck yourself.

I'm done.

EDIT: Okay. I was probably jumping the gun here. Forgive me, it's hard to focus on fanfic when the people ostensibly running our civilization seem to have entered us into their insane suicide pact. I certainly didn't sign up for World War 3 or a drooling vegetable trying to take away my gas stove.

In all honesty, though, I've found less and less inspiration for Ponies for a while now. Perhaps it's best I bow out while I have a decent legacy to leave behind.

The post you responded to was about something that was directly stated by AJT.

5751372 Oh no, you have schooled me, oh master of pointless baiting and deliberate misunderstanding. I shall leave you to it.

Hands, Short Hand, and Progress are my favorite of AJT's stuff that's not "That Most Heinous of Crimes." The Prince is getting pretty good, too.

You aren't a machine, and your feelings are valid, but echoing that Tara Strong is kinda trash for various reasons, yeah.

Why do I even bother sometimes... ugh. This whole comment section is a dumpster fire.

The important thing to remember is that he's not RHJunior or Skysaber.

Props to you for making a blog announcing you were wrong, I respect that.

*le gasp.* ... I have no idea who those people are and I am not inclined to ask. Or care.

This is why I don't have a twitter. Being on the extremely bleeding edge of things means you'll be in for a rollercoaster, but if you just idly check news a few days or a week later you get a more level headed take. That said, twitter isn't a good place to be anyway
