FoME Writers Kiosk · 7:54pm Aug 10th, 2023
Greetings from Bellevue! For anyone reading this, attending Everfree Northwest this year, and who wants to maximize their me-related activities there (for whatever reason you may have) here's where you can be sure to see me:
Vendor Hall
I'm participating in Twilight's Book Nook (Booth 9, just to your left as you're entering the hall,) both supplying some of the product and sitting in for autographs/helping work the booth. You can find me there Friday from 12:30 to 1:00 and Sunday from 1:30 to 2:00. Come by and give me incredibly mixed feelings about humans who exist in real life wanting to own dead-tree copies of Oversaturation!
The Twilight Room
The third floor conference hall is where I'd probably spend a good chunk of the convention anyway, since it has all the writing panels. I'll certainly be there this year, because Saturday at 4:45, I'll be presenting the panel "Crossovers: What to Do When Worlds Collide." (I'll also probably be there right after Iron Author for the Ask an Author event at 2:00.)
Hope to see you there if you're coming. If not, rest assured that I'll have a con blog up shortly after getting home. (And FiCG will naturally be a bit delayed this week.)
Have fun!
Someday we'll build up your ego dangit!
For serious though, hope you have a blast n_n
Have fun! I do hope the Book Nook is a huge success

Hngh, my schedule is already so full ;-; but I will try what I can to see if I can't catch you!
Have a great time!
If you know, how many people typically go to EFNW? Trotcon in Ohio hovers at around 1k attendees. This one seems huge just based on how many artists/authors I know who are going.
Have fun!

The 2021 con, the most recent I could easily find, was 1,676 people. Likely affected by COVID, though the 2019 one was only 1,832, due to the hype for the last Bronycon poaching many folks who couldn't afford to do both. Its 2018 one was 2,700. My guess would be that last year's and this one rose by a bit, possibly passing out the 2019 one, but not going above 2,000 more than marginally.
As far as I can gather, it seems so much bigger here on this website because it has the most Ponyfic-slant of events of any con, so you get lots of "see you guys at EFNW!" posts this time of year. It's recent attendance is not even double the 1,000-odd attendance of UK PonyCon, yet you'll only find a couple of blogs of folks here noting they're going to that each year.

That's interesting. Honestly not as much as I thought, given all the people I know who are going. It feels like it attracts bigger artists and guests, though that might be partially 'grass is always greener' and etc.
While I can't really justify tripping across the country just for a weekend convention, there are 3 national parks in the state, two of which on my short-list to check out. Maybe I'll check it out as part of a larger vacation, sometime.~

This is based on nothing, but isn't EFNW the largest brony convention since BronyCon shut down? If so it might attract more crowds and vendors by virtue of being the biggest game in town.

Side note, I have purchased The Education of Clover the Clever.

I mean, your name is on it
In all seriousness, thanks! I'm delighted that my book is there

Also the west coast is pretty densely populated compared to Ohio (Trotcon) and Wisconsin (PVCF). Trotcon does benefit from being inside the big semi-circle of most of America's population (being one day's drive distance from the East/South coasts), but suffers that most people won't make a huge driver for a weekend convention. Meanwhile EFNW is drive-accessed by a smaller population, but much more conveniently.
