Though it hasn't been long since her coronation as Sovereign of Equestria, Princess Twilight Sparkle is already feeling the weight and stress of her new role. Luckily, she brought more than just books with her when she moved to Canterlot: she also brought along Ponyville's resident human. If only she weren't so anxious about what their new relationship means.

There are about 15kish words that are supposed to be between this and Scenes From A Life In Equestria, establishing the start of Ellie's relationship with Rarity, up to her leaving on a business trip for a couple of weeks. But then I re-watched The Road To Friendship and A Rock Solid Friendship and got re-obsessed with Startrix and Starmaud and Startrixmaud all over again, and could not wait. Will connect it to the rest of the series once that catches up.

Author's Note

I had originally intended to start this series later in its timeline, with the first few months of Ellie getting settled into Equestria being left alluded to and unexplored. But I felt it was important to establish the fact that she is intended to be a distinct character with a biography and a worldview, not a shallow self-insert.

I hope that the temporal setting and references do not come off as a tasteless attempt to be topical. It is in fact deliberately historical, as the inspiration behind this series came from the feelings of the first few months of the pandemic before getting used to the new normal, when everything felt isolating and disorienting and uncertain. It was in this stew of emotions that I started to watch, for the very first time, this children's TV show that all the internet people were on about. And here we are.

The only human in Equestria needs help from Princess Luna, and has to explain a natural process of the human body. The human is very anxious. Also, a woman, BTW.

I meant this human character to be a one-off, and NOT Ellie from my stories to come. Possibly not even the same continuity. Though I ended up liking this unnamed character. Very hashtag relatable, in my opinion. What do you think?
