Yes they do have those. Their "elite" soldiers are paladins that have very resilient blessed power armor that provides a magical shield. The armor is based on force of will and faith, much like magic. But because the source of the magic is the armor instead of a unicorn horn, any pony can learn to use it to enhance their strength and resilience.
