Unfortunately for her, a familiar pair of rivals return to seek revenge. Will she be able to defend her home and still have a wonderful Hearth's Warming Eve?

(Obvious title is obvious, but we need a good nod to Home Alone! If Fallout and Luigi's Mansion can be done, then by golly we're gonna have a holly jolly Christmas this year. Hopefully it will be completed by said holiday. Oh man, that would just be awkward if I didn't finish it in time, right? That would totally mean I ruined Christmas.

After the extravagant 'Gentleman for Mares' company's huge success in Equestria, a large number of competitors began to spring up from around the country. Most were blatant ripoffs, but several were options for mares with a budget. Needless to say, complications arose.

What seems to be an ordinary night for Twilight Sparkle suddenly turns into something more. Poor little Spike is restless and thinks that his bed is haunted! Will Twilight be able to quell his fears and get a good night's rest?

After discovering a piece of the Nightmare's corruption residing within everypony, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna conducted an experiment to extract that magic. Their efforts were a success on Twilight Sparkle and her friends, but at a heavy cost. Instead of inanimate objects like the armor from Nightmare Moon, the most negative traits of the bearers were ponyfied. These manifestations of the Nightmare couldn't reside in Equestria nor could they be destroyed or banished. The act would also affect the true bearers. So they called upon a curious stallion to watch over them and guide them to true happiness in a distant, foreign city. Years later, the situation had worsened rather than improved. These are the chronicles of their caretaker; in a place that he referred to as 'the last casino.'

A/N: Trust me, this summary does not do the story any justice properly. I promise that you'll find an intriguing plot and better 'summary' if you read the prologue. I guarantee it.
