It's one year after Twilight's coronation, and she has chosen to remain in Ponyville, helping solve their problems, maintaining the library, doing whatever it is the element of magic does. She is a natural-born problem solver. But when it comes to her knowledge that the lover of Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash's brother, is going to die soon, what can she do to prevent the emptiness that comes with a loved-one's death?

No offense, but cliffhanger not so much for the win, at least not in the second part of this chapter. A cliffhanger aught to frustrate the reader because of an unresolved conflict. Honestly, this is more like cutting a chapter in half. At the end I just thought, "Oh well, next chapter!" As for the moment with Rainbow Dash...eh, I guess that qualifies as a cliffhanger.
Don't get me wrong, this is a good story. I like the imagery you implemented, very nice!
