The evil warlord and sorcerer, Lord Grickori, has returned after being imprisoned for over 1000 years. Before he was imprisoned, he was about to take over Canterlot, with his army and a speical crystal, which he called the element of destruction. But Princess Celestia and Luna, with the elements of harmorny, destroyed his army, and broke the element of destruction into three pieces, and put them in the farthest reaches of Equestria. Now that he's back, the princess wants Twilight and the others to find the three pieces before Lord Grickori, gets them, resurrects his army and takes over.
