There are some things in life they don't warn you about, such as your wife asking to try new, rather unique things in the bedroom. But to please her, Shining would do damn near anything.
Even if I had the option, curiosity alone would not be enough to make me want that. That is not to say that it would never happen for other reasons. :mysteriousness:
this made me smile at first then i was laughing at the end. some part of me was sad that it wasnt happening but another part found it funny. Does this mean am comfused becsue i dont think i am?
“Why shouldn't I move around?” Aegis rolled over and inspected to the weight holding her down, only to see that her stomach was pushed out well beyond its normal size. “I'm... I'm...”
"… but all three? Do you know the odds of that?” “I'm guessing low.” “Extremely low. Miniscule in fact.”
Okay, let me stop you right there. (Paraphrasing TVTropes) You Fail Statistics Forever.
College statistics tells us that (in the absence of other factors) here, repetition is allowed and order doesn't matter. That means that this is a 'multichoose' problem. 3 multichoose 3 is 10, so assuming triplets (with each having an equal chance of being each race), the chances are one in ten.
Sorry for being so pedantic, but I just hate to see abuses of statistics go unnoticed like that. Other than that, this is a good story with an excellent premise.
2313008 I assume the probability is a stacked one: First, the probability of having triplets (which is small), then divide by ten.
But you're falling into an equal-probability problem. You Fail Stats too: A baby has two inputs. Shining Aegis, magic interferance or not, is a unicorn. This will skew the birth type probability to Unicorn, reducing the probability of the two others, depending on how the genetics work.
On top of that, the dream only affirms one fact: all three are possible. P(UC) > 0, P(EP) > 0, P(PG) > 0. Even in an alicorn, that does not mean they are =equally= likely. In example, clearly, unicorn and pegasus genetics are recessive (from the Cakes), but are E.P. genes too? Unicorns seem to have two kids in the show, while pegasi seem to only have one, and earth ponies three or more: By genetics, E-E-E is much more likely than P-P-P, therefore E-P-U is much less likely than E-E-E, if we assume all three species have the same amount of sex thus only the virility is a factor.
2313008 Ah, but you also have to keep in mind that odds of having triplets period would also be pretty small, so it would be one out of ten of an event that has a low probability in the first place.
2323532 Hmm I'll actually read those m/m and f/f chapters because you have a way with words whc=ich lakes weird gender stuff really funny to read. Only way to make me stop reading this story would be gore stuff or double dragon d*cks urgh :p
you all forget the most important part of this whole thing... you're in Equestria with a being that can completely transform a stallion into a mare and vice versa... in short, mylittlefacewhen.com/f/1791/
Sure you do! The point of good fiction is that it follows internal rules. Yes, casting a Fireball does not create an equivalent Coldball somewhere else in the universe, but it might lower the temperature of the surrounding area a tiny bit (like a real fire sometimes does) or spread the decrease across the universe so as to be unnoticeable. In a case of missing facts, given a human author and human reader, you apply human reality to the void so long as it makes sense.
I actually read something (before his Flanderization) that Discord was the most orderly creature in Equestria. For out of all creatures, Discord alone is pure in purpose. In purest chaos, there is great order. In magic as well, there are rules. Otherwise Twilight would not have messed up Starswirl's spell: She must have broken a rule, otherwise willing it to be so would have made it happen.
A fiction where random things happen for random reasons and even the randomness doesn't have internal consistency will fail. Horribly. Even as a comedy. If Pinkie Pie stopped a conversation in the show, mid-phrase, to turn to the camera and say "you know, Santa Claus isn't real, and if he was, purple dwarves would choke on gangnum style pistachios", and did the same thing with a different nonsensical phrase every 1-7 phrases (random distribution), you'd think it stupid. That isn't Pinkie's order of Random. "Screw logic, I'm Pinkie Pie" all she wants, she follows, in story and in fanon, very strict sets of rules. We debate within the context and window of the fiction in order to improve it. Why are orcs evil? A wizard did it? That's a much less satisfying response than a brief look into their society showing how they develop hatred for humans. Even if "loldunnoMagic" is a valid response, it is rarely the best one for those who seek to improve themselves and others.
Sorry, there are simply many times on the internet where such a thing is a way to brush off nerds and their interests without thought done in complete seriousness, that lacking an appropriate identifier, I assumed a negative. My bad.
2327353 s'all good. besides, i doubt there's a single person on this site that doesn't fall in the "nerd" category offline, and i doubt there's any benefit in putting down others that fall into your social strata, so it's best to assume the best in others. now turn that frown upside down and go enjoy your ponies!
2311031 Apparently irl if you change your gender, you can't get pregnant. Dunno about FtM, though...
(typed MtF by mistake. Forgive me, I had a Sigmund Freud moment. (can't think of a good way to ponify his name. Best I can come up with right now is Clopmind Freud, and that's not good (although pretty descriptive...)))
As a man I can say without a doubt I will never be curious about how it feels to be preggo and give birth....
2308691 Maybe that would change if we could actually change to the fairer sex, i certainly wouldn't mind it for a day hehehe....
2308736 yeah, but if that would happened, you would be playing with your tits (at least), not thinking about getting pregnant.
yes
DAMN! If you didn't put in the fact it was a dream, I would've believed it
2308750 I dunno, that would get boring pretty quickly lol
awwwww party pooper
:3 Hehehe. Dream... or vision? *snicker*
2308736 I would not mind trying that as well but birth is out of the question
2308771 that's why a said "at least". I didn't want to throw any cucumbers or deo cans into the fray just yet.
Ha!
, for so many reasons , right up to the dream reveal.
Figured it was something like that. Still. All the d'awwws. All of them.
The one thing I don't like, is that they have new names Other then that, it's great
Three... Scary. Just sayin'.
Even if I had the option, curiosity alone would not be enough to make me want that. That is not to say that it would never happen for other reasons. :mysteriousness:
You big tease.

I'm sorta curious about how it feels to be pregnant for general curiosity. But it would be interesting for maybe ten minutes.
They can keep shoving a watermelon out of their crotch though.
Commence read.
Well that has an interesting perspective.
2308691 Your cries will go unanswered
“Why shouldn't I move around?” Aegis rolled over and inspected to the weight holding her down, only to see that her stomach was pushed out well beyond its normal size. “I'm... I'm...”
Oh god.... I lost it. I completely lost it when I read this.
I damn near had an asthma attack from laughing so hard and I'm fairly certain my roommates think I'm bat shit crazy now.
Totally worth it.

Abort if you will
...hmm, curiosity would get me to gender swap. I think I would rather skip over the 'get pregnant' portion of the list though
Motherfucker!!!
You got me, I totally fell for it.
This is a really sweet story.
I'm liking all of the feels!

It seems I've been told who the real idiot is around here. Shows me not to get all worked up over this kind of stuff.

Nice points, that's what I get for handwaving things and working with nonexistent data.
Still, something about the lack of even a very lazy handwave in the story bugs me.
2313008

2308807 interesting to see you here.
Well, gender switch is nice and all, but Cadence did say she wanted to know the love of a homosexual category couple. So... when will that occur?
2323363
In a few chapters. There'll be an f/f chapter and an m/m chapter.
2323532
Okay then, will be interesting to know how they feel about it.

No.
I wonder what would Aegis say if Eros would ask for a blowjob
2390208 Probably will happen and he/she will love it lol.
2403007 or gay relationships.
So, is Luna feeling Aegis at the end, her joking around about her being pregnant or what?
Cause I'm kinda scared now!

I would bet (fictional) money that the part with the butterfly when Luna appeared (YAY LUNA!!! Sorry, just had to get that out of my system...) is a reference to the version of Nightmare Moon featured in this comic: fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/181/8/9/mlp__ta___my_kingdom_by_bonaxor-d55h9tj.png
