This story is a sequel to Šta Ostaje

Following the destruction of the Greifisch Battalion, the survivors make their way home. Gráinne and her remaining friends make the journey together.

This story follows on from the events of my previous stories Šta Ostaje and Death of a Dream and is set in the world of Captain Hoers' webcomic The Sunjackers.

I've really enjoyed this series so far. Showing things from the perspective of defeated idealists is very interesting, and despite how short the stories are, the characters have plenty of personality.

Honestly, keeping these stories short is a big part of what lets those characters come through so strongly. Writing them in this style, like little vignettes, gives you a brief glimpse into the world and the life of the characters. You get some idea of the world around them, of the overall plot line of their lives, but it's a fleeting look, and you're left having to infer a lot of things. So we're not getting lost in a long plot, we're not getting bogged down in long sections of dialog, we're getting the characters. And often their raw and unfiltered feelings and thoughts.

It's almost like stumbling across an old photograph. You might remember what was going on when you took it, where you were, how you felt, but all you really have is the moment shown.
