I kinda love the bit of…irony (? That doesn’t feel right, but for lack of a better term) thinking back to Parade/Rose/Tempest going to the ballista and Parade flying up and poking fun at Rose for not doing so. Idk if it was on purpose, but I really liked the parallel here.
The levels of dramatic irony at play here is amazing.
Rose, so sure in her belief that the Princesses are still inside, has that belief and faith shattered alongside her wing by the very pony she so worships.
In addition, with the loss of her wing, she's now going to find herself relating to Tempest even more. A pegasus without her wing and a unicorn without their horn, both ostracized by those they once considered "friends", both completely sure in their beliefs, both losing their faith in their fellow ponies... These two are going to become each other's crutch.
That is going to be an insane rest of the story. And of course R.I.P. Golden and Bulwark.
Bared HER six inch long fangs.
Other than that this chapter was expertly done. I am unsure how Rose will be able to hold onto her faith or if it will waver from this, but I can see it coming out 50/50.
In addition I can understand both Rose's position AND Golden and Bulwark's position on beliefs, but Golden and Bulwark didn't have to be asses about it. People (And Ponies) cling to what most comforts and is familiar to them in difficult times. Rose's just so happens to be her beliefs, no need to shame or mock her.
In case anyone does try to point out Rose's flaws and her downright zealous nature, I can see that too. I'm just saying that both sides don't have to cause trouble for one another or cause unnecessary stress, considering what they are already going through.

She is, without a doubt, one of the most unlikable protagonists I've ever written and I love her for it.
He disagrees with a good idea of splitting up the group so that they all won't die.
Now he is willing to give them all a disatvantage that will get them all killed.
Wow. This guy is dumb.
They are smarter than they look.
Are you seriously this braindead? You want to go into the throne room with those two powerfull beasts inside? That is such suicide.
Yeah
And may you rest now griffin you held your own against them rest now warrior rest o7
