nice work still
(1) Is it possible for demons to die from fatal insomnia? Cause poor Bellatrix, she's really suffering here.
(2) Oh no! Tatyana plans to invade Oona's world, specifically when Abadonna is born?! Kind of makes sense given her goal is to get Aba, hence why Oona was her prisoner.
What does Walpurgisnacht translate to? How is it pronounced?
Also I think that while the event boosts witches, warlocks, and mages, I'm thinking it boosts everything with magic. Magic itself gets boosted, it's just those three categories who trained heavily in it would recieve the greatest.
Since unicorns aren't being mentioned specifically I do believe it's because those three types get the boost specifically because of their training, as most everyday unicorns don't really train their magic. Though I do presume they would get a tiny boost, but their mama pools wouldn't allow for a bigger boost.
Imagine that on that day, magic gets boosted by 2. And let's say a everyday unicorn's mana pool is 10, and a wizard is around 50. Then during that day, a unicorn would have 20 mana while a wizard would have 100.
Pegasi and Earth would presumably have their magic boosted, but because their magic can't be used or trained like a mage's, their boosts are also minimal. It's those who specifically strive for magical prowess that have their greater mana pools get supercharged.
(3) If Midnight's world, which seems to be the center of all the destabilization, becomes even more unstable by connecting with more worlds, maybe things get to a point where it could end up connecting with Oona's dimension? Or maybe a proper usage of the Vorpal Blade, which comes from divine magic instead of Necromantic origins, aka a more stable transport, could enable Beatrix to go to Oona's world and have the rematch with Tatyana?
As Beatrix gains more sharper control, she'll probably be able to go toe to toe on Tatyana, that is if Tatyana doesn't break out the merged form she had in their previous fight. I feel that's too much of a gap for control alone to surpass, even if power was gained.
(4) Going back to point 2, do people with Onomas have their magic boosted as well? Cause I feel that Lightning Spark could get a boost to her magic as well?
This all sounds like Sozin's Comet from Avatar. Firebenders getting boosted, now magic users.
I wonder who will get their magic boosted. And from the sound of it, all final battles will take place on that day.
(5) I feel that Bellatrix will get to fight Alma for her final battle. I guess both as a mean of redeeming herself as well as the two being enemies. At least right now Bellatrix is doing a good job at withstanding Alma's threats and keeping a neutral face whenever important questions are asked.
Unfortunately Bellatrix properly guessed that Alma would sick her to the hellhounds as a punishment.
Can Bellatrix or anybody else really get knocked up by hellhounds or similar creatures though? Or is puppy factory just a way of saying how humiliating their situation is? Either ways, I feel sorry for Bellatrix, but at least she's determined to take everything Alma throws at her to make sure her friends can have more time.
Hearing Douglas being hesitant of the idea of fucking Bellatrix afterwards though was kind of funny. I could imagine the expression.
(6) Esmeralda and Camellia lore? Count me in! Also RIP to the ram who's skull is now part of the bath. What story did Dhullex appear in? It's kind of wholesome (?) that Esmeralda wants to see Camellia's face. And honestly I feel, pity for them (?). They made a reckless decision that costed them their humanity and freedom and turned them into vampire slaves. And then even when they were freed, they were soon ensnared by Alma with her blood, slowly turning them heartless.
Feeling connections to the Necro Beatrix idea. The alternative way on how Beatrix's journey inside the Necronomicon (specifically Depths of the Necronomicon) could've turned out. Exploring the Necronomicon would end up costing her everything this time.
(7) I love how Cameillia worries for Esmeralda's safety. I feel that they should be treated as fallen instead of enemies. If it weren't for Alma's blood changing them, they could still be ok. Maybe there can be a way to save them?
(8) Oh, Douglas did decide to fuck Bellatrix after the hellhounds had their turn. Almost hoped/thought he wouldn't based on his expression. But then again, magic cleans.
Even if Bellatrix made a mistake, this shouldn't have been the outcome for her. I feel very sorry for her.
At least her angelic self came to console her. This scene could be interpreted in many ways, but from the way I see it, it reminds me of Zeloph during Fire and Shadow. How he fell to rise stronger in his newer Onoma, halo returned. I don't think we've seen Bellatrix's angel form for a long time either.
Bellatrix might've lost sight of her angelic self, her kind nature, but it's still there, it's still her, buried within. Gathering strength to soon help her fight against Alma. She can't reveal herself yet otherwise Alma will stamp her out and prevent Bellatrix from ever escaping. Our reunion, the time where Bellatrix regains that form or those two sides of her unite.
A coin.
Two sides, heads and tails. Halo and... Demon Tail (other name?)
Together.
Also does Bellatrix's angel form connects to the lore that this world's demons were born from fallen angels and humans? It would be quite the interesting universal tale of a demon who went back to the light as an angel. Which I guess already happened but needs to happen again but stronger (Bellatrix)
(9) So Omen confirmed and explained to Esmeralda how he was able to see Cameillia's fears eh? Though now they know they shouldn't give him breaks, though who knows. Maybe he could break through that limitation as well.
Oh dear, Esmeralda killed Omen! Or did she?
Oh Esmeralda! You've activated Omen's trap card! Cameillia was right to worry about Omen!
(10) So Triad's back up eh? Honestly even though I don't feel much towards him, it still feels off knowing his arms are gone, his voice synthesized, etc.
Oh and now time to talk about god. And how Varys met 'god' only to realize it was all but fake. And gotta say, kind of agree with Triad's point of view about Varys. Nobody wants to die, that's always true, but he's descended so far that you can't really sympathize with him. Or at least you can't feel anything towards him.
And now he wants to become god. Using the Demi Humans with his technology to create the new race. Hopefully the line "those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it" will apply here! Have the trio of sister zebras finish Varys!
Or something along those lines.
(11) So after Triad warned Kirloy he's now being ordered to protect Penny. The info and lore here is interesting. And now we'll get to see what Varys's project is.
Oh dear. Even more danger added to the mix!
And yeah, Varys is truly a sick being. No wonder you said everyone will hate him if they aren't already!
And he's dead (?) He might've made a backup. He seems to be purely digital now. If it's true there's no soul to find.
(12) oh and of course the egg survived. So both Abadonna and the egg are going to be released into soon.
Yeah the multiverse will experience even more issues now. Maybe some dimensional collapse too.
So yeah, this chapter was packed. I liked everything in it and it was a very good read. And yay, read it one day after it was published.
(13) So what happens when a dimension collapses? Does the timeline just come to a halt, which means the dimension could be saved with a rewind? Or does the entire thing gets erased?
11392720
1. Possible, but succubi are extremely tough!
2. Yeah, I'd figure everything supernatural is boosted, but especially practiced magic users.
5. With magic yes, it's likely animals can crossbreed with people, although I figure succubi are resistant to pregnancy unless they desire it, so hopefully she's safe?
6. Dhullex appeared in A Clockwork Conundrum, which is also the introduction of Camellia, Esmeralda, Penny Dreadful, and Kilroy.
While Alma's blood has brought out the worst in the vampires, they did willingly betray Beatrix to help reclaim their manor, so not exactly innocent even before all this. Basically, they've always been selfish and amoral, and represent what Beatrix and Bellatrix could have become without morality and responsibility.
8. Bellatrix is special in that she was a piece of fiction written into the Necronomicon that gained sentience, and yep, her angel form has been MIA for a while!
13. Yes, a collapsed dimension is erased, and the ripples can damage dimensions around it!
11392779
(1) But they'd last more days than a normal human before they end up getting fatal insomnia right?
(2) Cause they'd have bigger mana pools right?
(5) With Sunset she was an undead so she couldn't give life. Though would divine magic (Zeloph) be able to impregnate her? Beatrix was infertile but Zeloph made life possible.
Who knows, given that demons were born from fallen angels and humans, maybe Anthros were born animals and witches.
(6) ah. I didn't know that. But compared to a few other villains they're definitely a bit better? Like, is there anybody worse than Varys? Maybe?
(8) Ah, who wrote her then? What happened to that person? How many hands touched the book? Did Cthulhu create the Necronomicon or someone else?
(13) Complete erasure?! Past, present, and future?
Time to activate determination.
11392810
1. Definitely much longer.
2. 'Mana pools' aren't part of our lore, but basically same idea, so yes.
5. Zeloph most likely could.
6. Camellia and Esmeralda have tipped more and more evil, but Varys is the debatable worst of all the villains! All the Vice Lords are pretty bad, of course.
8. Author unknown, but presumably the same as in Lovecraft lore? Abdul Alhazred, I believe? The injoke is that the 'author' is me, the creator of Beatrix and her lore.
11392846
(1) Hmhmm
(2) Ah. Then what's it's equivalent?
(5) Yep. No confirmation on the birth of Anthros though?
(6) Hmhmm. Varys is the one who's lost all humanity I think? Morality, Mercey, etc
(8) What, Where, When, How, would you be in this lore?
Then maybe this present is actually 4023? Or xxxxx years after our time XD
11392720
1) Hasn’t happened before.
2) There is no equivalent. Not everything needs an explanation
4) Arcane magic and Onoma’s are boosted, yes.
5) Not sure if Bellatrix counts as a Lilim since she’s a fictional depiction on succubi, so outside of special cases like Zeloph, she can’t bare children, much like her sister!
8) I mean, it’s pretty obvious who she is.
9) The less you know, the better
13) What’s the opposite of a Big Bang?
11392898
The Big Crunch I believe!
11392898
(1) Oh so it's real torture then? Being able to feel the pain of insomnia but never dying?
(2) Ah alright.
(4) Interesting. Can't wait to see how more powerful magic will be then.
(5) Hmmm, my headcanon is that they both were fertile but their deaths/revives made them infertile.
Bellatrix did force Beatrix to make a host for her. Which means that both were fertile during Vampiric (?)
(8) Hmhmm
(13) Big Crunch? But time still exists so maybe a Big Crunch could still be reversed? Or maybe dimension resets with a second Big Bang? The rebound. Which is kind of like an erasure anyways.
I feel if I asked if Midnight's world already experienced a Big Crunch it'd be spoilers eh?
11392932
5. That was a special case due to some fuckery with Sombra's magic. Plus, a lot of details for Beatrix and especially Bellatrix weren't worked out until the next story, Depths of Oblivion! I believe the original idea is that the Smooze living in Beatrix's womb rendered her barren, the Demiurge kind of took its place in my lore after Vampiric Planet's end.
11392942
Ah, so even if in another universe Amorous never absorbs the Smooze, he'd still be infertile? I always had the feeling he would be fertile until he's killed by Shadow Scythe or when his magic burns so much from holding a shield that he barely is considered a living being, only able to live on thanks to the Necronomicon.
So then he would be infertile from the start? Unable to knock up the mares who want to have a foal from the son of Shining Armor?
While I liked to imagine that he was fertile and thus able to knock up some mares, only to have emotional damage upon realizing that post his resurrection he was no longer able to do so, I guess this could also work?
11393012
Pretty much, Beatrix didn't encounter Shadow Scythe until after Depths of Oblivion.
11393015
Oh. And by then it's canon that she's infertile? Still trying to wrap my head about Vampiric Planet though. Because I feel even with magic Beatrix wouldn't have been able to produce the host body for Bellatrix.
After all, it's only divine magic from Zeloph that's able to knock her up afterwards. But then idk.
When does she stop using anti pregnancy potions?
11393016
Remember, Beatrix was also on an alien planet with warped reality. Basically, read Vampiric Planet to the end and Depths of Oblivion, which really set Beatrix's canon in place.
11393024
Hmmmm, yeah that'd probably be for the best.
I hope Omen can put his plan into motion soon. The longer he waits, the more his allies will suffer.
Douglas of all people showing discomfort for a rapefest? That's a new image!😕
Carmellia's facial scarring does not sound as severe as she makes them out to be. It seems that they're exaggerated by her trauma.
Did you mean "that"?
Famous last words.
Missing the word "water" here.
Did you mean "head"?
The question here is: What use would she have for that coin? Douglas only tossed at her as part of an insult.🤔
Ok, there's absolutely no way that Omen could have died that easily.
Wait, so was Esmeralda already under his spell from the moment she walked in?
Replace the question mark with a comma.
Just when you think you've reached the bottom of the cesspit that is Varys's insanity, he hands you a drill.😰
When someone like Mortis is disgusted by Varys, it's a damn good indicator that there's always someone worse.
A Demihuman with no soul?? Then how was Varys even alive!?😨
I'm confused. Why didn't Kilroy go with them? I don't see any reason for him to stay and die.
Oh, great. How can they kill the child of Project Nephilim!?😦
11393772
3. Imagine a crisscross of nasty red scars across very pale skin, but yes, she's still incredibly beautiful and as you say more traumatized by her ex-husband.
10. I wondered myself, and thought maybe it was when they made eye contact after she straddled him? Not sure Omen's range or limits myself.
15. Varys' machines were helping keep Kilroy around, as he would eventually fade since belief in him (as a tulpa) is weak. Only Penny Dreadful had any strong connection to him, and she's extremely unstable.
Granted he could have stuck around until he faded away, but wanted to spare Penny that sight.
11393772
1. Well, whatever he’s planning, it’s already underway!
2. I’d say he has standards, but… no, he doesn’t
3. Definitely seems to be the case!
4./6./7./11. As always, thanks for keeping a grammatical eye
8. I’m sure there’s a vending machine that takes ghoulish pirate currency.
9. Ahh, the joys of writing illusions
10. Correct.
12. Actually, his preferred tool is a saw-blade, but yes. For a deplorable, emotionless cyborg, he’s quite insane!
13. Someone worse than Varys? Unlikely!
14. Your guess is as good as mine. And I wrote it!
15. It was Varys’ tech that allowed the others to see Kilroy. With him dead and his laboratory in smitheries, Penny’s belief isn’t enough to sustain his existence as tulpa. Regardless, he was happy to sacrifice his ‘life’ so long as Triad protects Penny and Varys doesn’t succeed, the latter of which… well…
16. Not to give away anything, but it’s not a child. Whatever is about to hatch from that egg is PROJECT: Nephilim.
11393821
10. It happened much earlier than that. Only time will tell when we’ll learn a bit more about the Nightmare Stag.
11393827
13) To be clear, when I said there's always someone worse, I meant someone worse than Mortis.
