the dangerous attempt

Somewhere in Equestria, a group of 8 creatures prepare a dangerous attempt Apple Lauda had in mind: breaking the sound barrier on land. Everycreature know how dangerous it will be. The current record stands at 650 mp/h, just below mach 1.00 (speed of sound)

"I have thought long about it... It could be my last moment alive..." said Apple Lauda "prepare for my death because if something happens, I'm so muffined"

"Good thing the weather is clear, and also there's no wind at all. Perfect conditions for a Supersonic drive" said Akula "don't do anything stupid on the wheel. One mistake and that could be it"

"I'm scared... I'm worried... The slightest mistake will be the end..." said Silverstream "I've checked the whole track and the track is clear at all"

"He will be fine Silverstream, I mean Apple Lauda never crashes, right?" said Gallus

The car gets prepared and Smolder noticed something was wrong on the car. "We can't let you go Apple Lauda... One of the axles are broken" said Smolder.

"**** OFF MAN!!!! Why does this have to happen right now?!" Apple Lauda shouted in rage. "Great!!! now there are clouds and the Wind appears as well!!! If I go when the car is fixed, I would commit suicide!!!"

The wind turned into a hurricane but the car got fixed in time and got brought into a hangar

"Let's stay here for a while. at least we're safe in here. As soon as the hurricane disappears, we'll check the track and then you're good to go Apple Lauda" Ocellus said

"Yak not sure if it will happen today..." said Yona

"the radar says that the hurricane will disappear in a moment, so we all check the track and then let the run begin" said Akula

"alright... so I have gone through the emergency checklist and I'm good to go" Apple Lauda said. "can't wait to go over 700"

"due to the weather conditions, the speed of sound will be around 710 mp/h. let's hope the car can deal with it" Sandbar explained that there could be some vibrations on the car in the transonic area.

The Hurricane disappeared and the group started to check the entire track, even the runoff area and the track was prepared again to ensure safety at maximum speed.

After all the preparations were made, Apple Lauda got into his car and started accelerating to 80 mp/h before firing up the thrusters. "200 looking for max" he said through the radio

Apple Lauda kept counting the speed on the speedometer. He exceeded 620 mp/h (~1000 kp/h) 1 mile before entering the measured mile. Then the noise everycreature waited for appeared... a loud sonic boom could be heard through the measured mile.

"there are a lot of vibrations on the car!!!" Apple Lauda noticed something terribly wrong with the car but it was found out that the car hadn't fully go Supersonic at all at the end of the measured mile

"the car is fine there are no issues found" Akula told Apple Lauda he didn't fully go Supersonic

"SCHEIßE!!! WARUM?! IRGENDWAS MUSS MIT DEM BLECHTROTTEL NICHT STIMMEN!!!" Apple Lauda was furious about the fact he only went half through the sound barrier

"Blechtrottel hahahaha what does that even mean whaat?!" Smolder asked

"that's Austrian and means Computer" Apple Lauda responded

"You achieved an speed of 706 mp/h... you got the record already!!!" Silverstream told her boyfriend just got the record but Apple Lauda wanted the Supersonic speeds.

"thanks everycreature... but I want to go Supersonic... NO I DON'T HAVE THE RECORD I NEED TO DO A RETURN RUN WITHIN A HOUR!!!" Apple Lauda realized that he hadn't the record yet... Mach 1.00 was far away. "I need at least 780 mp/h to blast through the sound barrier and getting the Supersonic record" explained Apple Lauda

"True. Pony need higher speed or Pony won't get the record" explained Yona

"alright, we'll come to prepare the car for the return run" said Ocellus.

the car was about 2 miles away from the measured mile and the 7 creatures went on their way already before Apple Lauda stopped

"and no with the Computers is everything alright" said Sandbar

the 7 creatures arrived at the car Apple Lauda recently launched through the 700 mp/h barrier and prepare it for the return run

"don't be disappointed if you don't get the Supersonic record" said Smolder

"you will get the record for sure" said Akula

Gallus noticed that the temperatures increased in the desert and was sceptical if Apple Lauda will make it through the sound barrier. Now Apple Lauda has to reach over 760 mp/h in order to get the Supersonic record...

Silverstream gets really worried and started to tear up. "goodbye Mach 1.00) she said.

the car was refueled and prepared for the return run

"do I look like I will fail to burst through 760?" Apple Lauda was very optimistic. He took a deep breath and then he started to roll away from the starting line doing the same proceedure. At 200 mp/h he fired the thrusters up again. Then everything went crazy quickly
"400... Jesus..."

"700, hard vibrations incoming"

when Apple Lauda reached the measured mile, he already exceeded 750 mp/h.
"755 into measured mile"

short silence... the 7 creatures lost contact to Apple Lauda. He was out of range. it held for 3 seconds...

a Sonic Boom appeared. the car had shattered the Sound Barrier this time.

a few minutes later, the car came to a stop. before the car exited the measured mile, it hits a top speed of 781 mp/h

"the top speed for this run was 781.7 mp/h. You broke the Sound Barrier" said Akula

"average Mach number was 0.96. If we round it up, we'll get Mach 1!!! SUPERSONIC LAND SPEED RECORD!!!" said Silverstream. But the actual datas showed that Apple Lauda had actually broke the Sound Barrier in the first run as well.

Apple Lauda achieved an average speed of 743 mp/h. Due to the area and the weather, he achieved a total Mach of 1.20 and has become Equestrias first Supersonic driver

driving Supersonic is possible in real life. Andy Green achieved a speed of 763 mp/h, breaking the Sound Barrier in both runs on October 15th 1997 on run 66 with the Thrust SSC. This record still stands today in real life but is expected to be smashed in the future
