This story is a sequel to My Final Pony Fantasy III
(Post-Movie)
After the defeat of the Storm King, peace had returned once again to Equestria. But things like peace are pulled out of Princess Luna's mind when she has a vision of an evil force plotting to conquer Equestria after they steal Crystals and destroy the inhabitants of another world.
Accompanying her on this journey are Twilight, Spike, their Ponyville friends, Shining Armor and Princess Cadence as they join forces with Cecil Harvey and a host of other warriors as they take on Golbez.

Good start. Curious where everyone will come in to meet Cecil.
On another note I have a feeling those two were chosen likely chosen for the positive effect they would have on Cecil. Luna, likely more for the effect she would have on someone else who would initially be an enemy.
Quite the twist to have just Shining at the start. I also forgot that early Amano art for Kain had his eyes visible compared to later designs. I can only assume any leading villains are aware of the ponies through Shining's appearance now. Curious where the rest of them will show up.
I like the nods to the battle system here. I see we're sticking to the Amano designs here. I have to wonder when and where the rest of that Equestria residents will show up gradually.

On another note. After seeing Fluttershy with a Chocobo and a Moogle follow Pinkie home, I kind of have this feeling that Luna is going to adopt a Namingway as her assistant like Spike is to Twilight.

No clue who's coming up next time from the Equestria side, but I at least have a good idea who Luna was talking to. And yeah, I can imagine by now the ponies are already on the hit list of the forces running Baron. Also, like how Cecil questions the kind of name style Shining has.

I'd say Cadance is next, after all Vim did say "another loved one" in the AN, and I am not sure love is what Twilight or Shining feel twoards the other girls. Not to menti9on, if they get to Edward, who better to mend a hurting heart then the Princess of Love?

Hmm~ Good point. On another note, I like Shining's bit of big brother instinct towards the de-powered Twilight here. Also, interested how interactions with Tellah will be given his expertise in magic.
Just had to have that infamous quote for the title, huh? Before playing the game I mostly remember it for the website that had this old flash cartoon called Eskimo Bob.
Nice introduction for Tellah. I admit amused whenever I see Cecil all confused and curious about pony culture and colloquialisms.
Wonder just wear Luna will end up. Seems Cadence was put through the ringer, but her bonding with Edward makes sense. It is curious thing Golbez actively chose to spare her. Off the top of my head it might be so she'll be more useful as a bargaining chip alongside Rosa later, but I can't be sure on that.
Also see that Shining still has plenty of guilt concerning Mist. I like to call backs to certain episodes on occasion. I'm guessing Twilight feels more comfortable going all out on something flat out evil vs wild animals like the Octomammoth. Don't think Fluttershy would have better luck than Twilight in this case as far as talking it out goes.

Honestly, I'd mix the two personalities - the horrifying acts of the actual game with the Joker-esque qualities of Dissidia. Works as a good mix considering that Kefka is basically the Joker but with magic.
Okay. Nice in character introductions for Rarity and Luna. I can kind of see Fluttershy giving a pep talk to Edward if they meet ever since she has some experience having to overcome some fearful situations. Nice having the Crystal Empire couple bonding with Cecil and Rosa. I like the call back to Ricard as well and can imagine Kain's return will shake everyone up. I expect Luna to do some dream walking next time.
On another note I have a feeling next time will focus primarily on Mt Hobbs. Maybe see a little bit of Fabul near the end of the next chapter depending how things go given that things are going to get pretty intense after that. I can imagine the ponies still being familiar with Bomb enemies and that Applejack might pick up a few "bucking" techniques from Yang.
