Maple is the new mare in town. She arrives just in time for the zap apple harvest, only she isn't here for zap apples. She's here for tree sap to make syrup. When Applejack notices how much everypony loves Maple's syrup, she worries how her zap apple jam will sell.

Another reason Applejack is the stupidest of the Mane 7. Yeah, Ponyville did well with Zapp Apple Jam. Only cause nopony else had anything that could do and sell as well, and still be honest about it.

Seriously. I doubt Granny Smith would be anywhere as sore as AJ is about this. Same with Big Mac. It's called business. And Maple's is doing good. A little competition never hurt.

I doubt Ponyville will abandon Sweet Apple Acres entirely.
