Not half bad trial, but I only have one critique. I'd reccomend not having the characters talk during the executions. It kinda broke the immersion for me.
I now find myself wondering if Greyscale is one of the ponies that Pinkie warned about...
How many chapters long will this story be?

Hmm, I never really thought about that, but good point.

I'm not sure how many chapters it'll be per se, but realistically, you'll be looking at around 400k words in total. I can understand if that seems a bit daunting, though I'm hoping my upload schedule being spread out accordingly will make that number much easier to swallow.

Well, I'll admit I'm a little disappointed, but if you don't think it fits the story.
Of all the predictions I made, the killer's motive is the one I'm most proud that I got right. It's too bad that that character had to be eliminated so early, but now it's probably going to be a free-for-all! This story is quite a thrill, and I look forward to what comes next.
Minor typo, should be "out of"

Ack! Another typo! Now it's fixed.
Yep, I was pleasantly surprised when you guessed the motive. I'm glad you've liked the fic thus far and hope you enjoy what comes next. Now comes the hard part... For me to catch up on my writing!
Trial one is 16 chapters long, really don't feel like there should have been that much spacing
Okay, I have a very, VERY nutty theory based on what I've read so far.
Pinkie Pie is the mastermind.
Pinkie is an expert in disguises. We've seen her look exactly like another pony with zero magic required.
While Monobunny's writing may be honest, we have no evidence that the list of victims was written by him.
We have another pony here named Dopple Ganger. A doppelganger isn't a shapeshifter, to my limited knowledge. It's a perfect copy of someone. Literally Double Walker.
With Pinkie's durability feats in the show, it doesn't make sense she could be killed so easily, unless either A: She was a more grounded version of herself, in which case my theory falls apart, or B: It was someone else disguised as her.
So my theory is thus: Dopple is secretly the real Pinkie in disguise. The real Dopple was the Pinkie who died. The list of bodies was not written by Monobunny. Pinkie Pie is the mastermind behind the Killing Game.
That's my theory from what I've seen so far.
Also Greyscale has gone absolutely bonkers with his murder solving power. I love it.
And the first trial comes to a close! I was a little intimidated by the sheer number of chapters involved, but then I realized you were taking audience integration to the next level and I can only respect that. I know I said before that I prefer to just go along for the ride, but if you're gonna do something like THIS then I might just participate after all.
Really engaging mystery and I legit did not see Shetland being the killer coming. I figured he'd have a big tragic motive to explain it all and it was tragic indeed, though driven by cold logic more than anything. More interesting to me though is Greyscale himself. As protagonists go, he's certainly unique. Someone whose life is so utterly devoid of meaning that he can't help but be drawn to something like this, no matter how horrible, because it's still the only worthwhile thing to ever happen to him. Very curious to see how his character is explored more later.
Also, loved the twist about the "mysterious 16th participant" just being some guy who died before the game even started. That's a brilliant red herring by itself, but it gets extra points for screwing the most with people who are familiar with Danganronpa. That's one of the best things to do with a fic like this.
