Hi, first of all thanks for your pertinent comment, I came back to this story by chance and I realize that it was never properly unfinished.
I'm going to work on it this weekend to find a satisfying conclusion at least for me.
As for the title "the beast", I don't think there's any real explanation, I just wanted to emphasize the difference between Leonidas and the rest of the ponies because of his way of life.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the story, I've already got a few ideas to develop.
