Rachnera Arachnera is sent to Equestria by a demoness. She now seeks a way home and won't let anything stand in her way. Even if it's a hive of changelings trying to take over a small town inhabited by ponies.
Ya know, I think I like Peggy. We could all use a granny like that I think.
Also, whelp, it would seem that it was a good idea not to leave Random in the manor after all. I'm gonna be curious to see what exactly happened with that.
9562854 Last night I went to see a picture show in town, They called my friend and said his house had just burned down. I turned to him and offered him my sympathy, And suddenly, I remembered, that he lived with me.
Me third herd wife, Sweet Pot, she won’t leave me daughter’s room.
Okay I need to ask since I normally don't like it if it works like I think it works. Do they have more wifes and husbands or do they mean herd as some sort of big familly?, relatives?
The most I could endure was something like Trixie x three other ponies and preferable if I see their reasons for liking Trixie.
I kind of hope it's something every ponie here does different, that some still do that and others like Shimmer don'T have three husbands.
All that ‘nobility’ and he don’t want tae listen to us common folk. Fer years ‘is family jus’ sittin’ up on yon mountain, kissin’ the Princess’ perfect arse,” her voice trailed off as she grumbled into her ale.
I think I like her.
“You’ve...you’ve never been touched by Harmony before, have you?” Winter queried, her brows raised. She had been staring at her mother.
ooooooohhhhhhhh okay I didn't had it happen for a long while that that world forced them to sing. Not sure how to feel about that I think I have seen a good and a bad story but half of the time it was somewhat akward.
A filly found one of the pedipalps and was clinging to it while it shook in a half-hearted attempt to dislodge her.
That is what looks liker her human legs right? I needed to use google on this one.
Awww it was good to see Random again and funny. I really think Peggy is one of my favourites there and the Lord might make it akward enough for a while for me to like him too after a while.
9563303 A family herd is considered all ponies living under the same roof. Each family will be different, of course, but it can and does extend to other family members and not just the ones married to each other. Friends can be adopted into herds, but the law requires them to live under the same roof as the family herd.
Consider Peggy is living in her house with her daughter Winter, her husband Sunrise (who owns all the lands around the village of Shimmering), and Random. Even though Sunset is off to Canterlot being Celestia's personal student, she is still a part of the herd (she comes home during the holidays). So a family herd can be any size.
“Welp,” Peggy snorted, “that puffed up quick-like.” She blinked, letting the words sink in. “Me house is on fire!” the old mare screeched, scrambling from her seat. “Me house! Me loverly house!”
Why in my mind, do I read "LOOK! A distraction!!" I instead?
It’s broken into six elements: Laughter, Kindness, Generosity, Honesty, Loyalty, and Magic.
Even taking account of her knowing of the Elements [they were mentioned only in one relatively obscure book] before Twilight and the others Magic as an element was the "hidden" one that would be revealed ONLY when the others are together...
9564939 This story is not canon with the original series. The Elements of Harmony have been taught as the pillars of Equestrian society. My idea was to create a Celestia that is a bit more open about Equestria's past. As a result the histories of Equestria and Equus in general has far fewer holes in them.
The physical manifestation of the elements is a secret known only to Celestia herself.
I do apologize if there was some confusion. I simply did not want to delve too far down that rabbit hole and pull readers away from the main story.
and yes, devoutly is correct. Random is one of those kids who gets into Celestia's philosophies like Ash Ketchum goes after Pokemon. :)
(edit:) Arachne appears as capitalized in the manga and the wiki, so I left that unchanged. I'll look further into that before I make any changes, if at all. I do appreciate the input!

Okay that's alright i guess, I just got the idea that this type exist and the type where everyone also shares each other partners in and outsite of the bedroom which is often simply not my taste.
I hope that helps.
Yes that helps, at least I know now which type you use.
Since I hardly can get into the idea sometimes that more than three or four ponies love each other, I can't really get into most harem or herd stories which more or less sound as if one guy has six wifes. It doesn't help that most of the time the author don't really manage to show why they fall in love with each other and stuff like that. In my opinion the fantasy ponie stories don't really have to try to fullfill whatever counts for real horses, but that is another thing. Don't really want to discuss that I know that a few think alike and others not but that is not important for this story/talk.
Okay just some things I'm interessted now which I maybe missed reading the first time.
Soooo do Twilight and Co already exist?, since we are talking about Sunset probably not. So Winter and Random are Sunsets Family in this story? I think their name was shimmer or shimmering right?
I know how powerfull those two could be in this story (Celestia and Sunset), but I do hope that if you make them meet each other that they somewhat meet on equal terms.
I guess I'm just wishing for the possibility that Arachne can suprise her in some way? Not sure how I would react this time, but most of the time I'M not the biggest fan of a Celestia who has always a counter on everything the main char does, never get's suprised, scared, outsmarted or beaten and stuff like that. I can't explain it that well but I never thought she had to grew up to 100% perfection.
In my opinion the fantasy ponie stories don't really have to try to fullfill whatever counts for real horses, but that is another thing.
It's a bit of a mix, but I try not to dwell too much into the world building and social norms more than necessary. What I use in one story might not be true in another. It helps to have an open mind (which I have had to cultivate for broader horizons, I'll admit).
Soooo do Twilight and Co already exist?, since we are talking about Sunset probably not.
At this point, they're a little older than Random by two or three years. He's six. Rainbow already did her sonic rainboom and Twilight has only been with Celestia for about a year. Sunset, in this story, is an older personal student of Celestia. In this AU, she's been tasked to be Twilight's tutor to help her develop a friendship with the filly. Celestia is a bit more savvy in that regard.
So Winter and Random are Sunsets Family in this story? I think their name was shimmer or shimmering right?
Winter is Sunset Shimmer's mother. Random is her baby brother.
(edit: Keep in mind, this world building stuff is in my head and not written down. I may do so in the future.)
9576395 Well, it's not a huge part of the story, so I don't intend to dwell too far into it, especially since it becomes a bit of a rabbit hole for some folks. That's okay and I don't mind people asking questions about this sort of thing (I do encourage curiosity).
You can think of herding in this story as two things, with one of them existing within the other. There's the group herd, which is basically everyone in the village living and working together to make their village prosperous and within that herd is the family herd, which is self descriptive. Family herds don't necessarily have to mean married ponies exclusively. They can include close friends. I consider the Mane 6, for example, as a herd: a group of friends that may or may involve sex. I leave that up to personal speculation. That's a silly argument to get into as it's silly and counterproductive to argue someone else's opinion as being wrong. I do think you're overthinking herding. It's a fluid thing. Read up on herds. You can go with the social dynamic that pertains to nature and that should solve your questions. I was only expounding on that particular herd dynamic.
So, it's natural horse herding with civilization added. Nothing more. I just added a couple of tweaks and called it good enough for what the story required.
9576414 Oh don't be suprised about the deleeted comment, I just decited to put it in a PM before I noticed you answered already. Yep I tend to think a bit hard on certain things I guess.
I understand they are ponies and some like to tread them as real ponies and stuff like that, but I never really can get it in my head how it would work for them with more than a few partners and having "that" open relationships without having a good amount of problems here and there as the result.
Then again I can't really think about it with a normal uhhhmmm people/city whatever in mind. ( I can't find the right word right now and because of that a translation won't work either.)
Once in a while I just need to know what the author or the characters where thinking in certain situations.
That's a silly argument to get into as it's silly and counterproductive to argue someone else's opinion as being wrong.
I agree with that even if I'm not sure if a potential "you can think about it as you like", helps me with how to feel about the world building.
So, it's natural horse herding with civilization added. Nothing more. I just added a couple of tweaks and called it good enough for what the story required.
Hmmmm I like the story, just those moments go a bit against what I prefer.
It sounds as if it would be what I don't really like, I don't really few them as mainly animals only, or let's say I don't compare them to real horses more or less because the "civilization". I guess you could say I nearly treat them like their own species even if that would allow others to see them how they like them as well.
I mean I haven't looked for what you mentioned yet, but it sounds like you more or less mean wild horses. I think I nearly finished the new chapter and I give you the post I deleeted in a Pm if you want to take another look at what I had written before if you answer this.
edit: I accidently made another copy and lost the text.
edit: It could also be that your trying to tell me that everything basically could happen or not.
9583059 She does understand. However, two different worlds might have two different takes on the meaning of harmony. Heck, there are cultures on our world where harmony is interpreted as something completely different.
Hmmm ... the Changelings are known, but considered "an old pony tale", but Winter strikes me as the type to send very detailed reports back to Canterlot, so after the Changlings do get revealed (judging by the Character Tags and how the story is going), they won't be dismissed as a "boogeypony" anymore ... I think Chrysalis is going to need a new plan for crashing Cadance and Shining's wedding.
9576454 I must admit I am a little curious why you seem to have such a dislike of herding? Polyamory - having multiple lovers - is not unheard of through out human society and the animal kingdom. Sure, problems can arise from having a larger intimate group, but the same is true with a group of friends. Friends can get jealous of one another, bored with the group and animosities can arise. IDK, as a writer that's currently writing a reverse-harem, I think exploring that part of a relationship is half the fun of writing it!
Oh god, can it get anymore hilarious?
...at some point Sunset or Celestia is going to show up, right? That's a meeting I'm really looking forward to.
I love Rachnera!! She's bucking hilarious!
Ya know, I think I like Peggy. We could all use a granny like that I think.
Also, whelp, it would seem that it was a good idea not to leave Random in the manor after all. I'm gonna be curious to see what exactly happened with that.
Wonder if Peggy’s delayed reaction is due to drink or is she always like that.
9562842
A bit of both. She was more pleased with herself at not having her grandson in the house, then realized it was her house.
9562854
Makes sense. Hopefully their society isn’t luxurious enough to have any family pets.
Why that's goddamn lyrical, that is.
9562854
Last night I went to see a picture show in town,
They called my friend and said his house had just burned down.
I turned to him and offered him my sympathy,
And suddenly, I remembered, that he lived with me.
9562854
Good thing Random wasn't in the house huh Winter... XD
Spider-man cartoon song reference. Love it!
“Best pillows ever!” Yes Random... Yes they are.
Ahh. From the innocent mouths of children.
Okay I need to ask since I normally don't like it if it works like I think it works. Do they have more wifes and husbands or do they mean herd as some sort of big familly?, relatives?

A family unit, rather than a marital one, though a marital union would be grouped under that same umbrella term? That about it?
9563423
Pretty much.
Why in my mind, do I read "LOOK! A distraction!!" I
instead?
Why do I have a feeling that Sunrise started it in a drunken rage at Rachnera? It just sounds like something he would do to get her in trouble.
9562908
I just about pissed myself laughing at this! Thanks A.P.O.N.I.!
The only bad part about this is waiting a week for the next chapter!
i'm envious of random right now. damn that fire things were looking interesting.
Random, you perv.
9564869
He has no idea. He's too young. He just knows he really likes them!
Hmm There is some issue of timing...
Even taking account of her knowing of the Elements [they were mentioned only in one relatively obscure book] before Twilight and the others Magic as an element was the "hidden" one that would be revealed ONLY when the others are together...

Arachnera
arachne [as it is the species name it should go lower case as is for pony]
remove
shifting [or there is a main clause regarding the eyes missing]
remove the commas.
Again this is a specie name so it should not be capitalized.
[Just make a search for Arachne and replace it with arachne it is all over the place.]
Hmm are you sure this is the correct word?
If he is using her surname it should be Arachnera
your
Hmm didn't this already happen a couple of paragraph earlier?
