Six years have passed since a pandemic transformed a quarter of the population of the United States into ponies. Magic has advanced far in that time, but its formerly human users will soon find that they have advanced too quickly and recklessly.

That last scene is incredibly touching, one of the best from all of the stories. I love the subtlety of it, as well as the descriptions of the landscape- they work very well here.
More curious than ever as to Triss' eventual plans for herself- she'd said that she'd stay out of Earth's affairs, in the first story, but twice now we've seen her interfering with them- first in the Warden's creation, and then now, and she doesn't need another immortal to remove the Devourers.
Just one thing you missed in editing: "...was even out and about(.) She..."
Jesus Fucking CHRIST Robby! At this point I genuinely think he's spiteful that she's smarter because of how he started this off with "Now I get to school you". This is something that would feth up adults that would think on it that the only reason they are cognizant is because of pony magic, let alone a SIX YEAR OLD.
Triss needs to meet Luna ASAP. I hate to say this her drive to see an alicorn pop up is going to start a war like no other and it will not be pretty.
There are two questions that need to be asked here. First, why is Triss so determined to get a pony from earth to ascend. Second, would ascension even be a good thing.
Also I kind of agree with tris. Not saying she is trustworthy just that the wardens are not either.
Also wild should not become an alicorn.
She is emotionally stunted because of her powers.
She never grew up.
The most messed up ponies are the ones that were changed during their formative years.
you should have a super crystal pony that can shut down ponies like wild growth.
It can be said that wild growth is one of the ponies most effected by sunset shimmer because unlike other ponies her ""specail talent" is not really hers but was given to her. Basicly it was luck of the draw.
News travels fast about whatever happened with Ghadab. Because it seemed to involve other ponies dyng and how everyone watching the news reacted it must have been pretty horrific. For one of the Dreamwardens that we never have seen actually do much other than cuss and be angry this was a lot of insight into his character in very little time. Light a candle for Ghadab, he deserved better than whatever happened.

I'm pretty sure that it was mentioned back in the original story that she tried and failed repeatedly to get beings to ascend before the Devourers could get to them in the past. If the Devourers really are coming much sooner than what was originally expected that might make her feel urgency to get someone to ascend just in case Earth fails to stop the Devourers just like everyone else before.

I think there might have been some smugness that he figured out something that Jessie hadn't, but I don't think he was being spiteful. He seemed confused at her reaction to it. Jessie has said already that he is completely open with her and doesn't treat her like she is six.
I'm pretty sure he is right though. Jessie is unnaturally intelligent. She might be emotionally and physically a six year old, but she has adult level reasoning.

You also have to take into consideration that Triss effectively sealed herself away from normal reality to stop the Devourers from getting to her. If another magically inclined species ascends it would effectively act like a signal flare for them and when you take into consideration that no matter how powerful a magic wielding individual is they are effectively powerless against them. So again what would be the point, especially as it seems that Triss has an ulterior motive regrading ascension.

Loneliness? She’s been alone for a very long time after all.
Ghadab's moment might be my favorite out of all of the stories so far, I'm so glad we had a chance to really see a more compassionate and caring side to him. It just adds so much more depth to his character, you really did a fantastic job with this!

Given the risks, she is playing an extremely high stakes game with little in the way of a guaranteed outcome. I can understand her loneliness, but is having company really worth the potential disruption that would be caused in the process.
Okay, so I missed this one: "...sprouted from the forehead (.)Rearing back ..."
Anyway, I wonder if Jessie will end up trying the temporary transformation spell at some point? She seems conflicted about her family enough; adding worries about how she was changed by magic might push her into trying. What would she think, if she did? How would her family react?

Trying to alleviate loneliness by offering power seems like an odd way to go about things. I can't help but wonder what else has been going on in the background with her, though; has she been in communication with the Dreamwardens? With Earth's governments? How easily can she dreamwalk, and could the Dreamwardens help in that regard? Has she tried to emigrate, either to Earth or Equestria? How much does she know about what's happening, both on Earth and Equestria? Why or why not to all preceding? If the answers are, 'can't easily see or talk, trying not to interfere' then she may very well be doing the best that she can, no ulterior motives.

This is going to sound bad, but I think she is a coward. She ran and hid in some other plane of existence when the devourers came, she turned tail and ran under threat of Sha'am getting her. She interferes with what happens a little here and there but you have to wonder how much she is actually capable of doing that she isn't. The dialogue here also seems to indicate she isn't always in the dream realm either, but she also isn't in the waking world. Would like to know what this other plane of existence is and what rules it functions under, and would like to know exactly what she is capable of doing. We don't even know if she is capable of taking physical for in the real world.

It's the same realm that twilight went to when she ascended, or rather, this universe's version thereof. May also be the Astral Plane- the realm of Forms. As for cowardice- possibly, at least in part. Others may very well accuse her of that. She may also be simply unable to get to Earth (or even the general vicinity- I suspect that she could survive space, albeit uncomfortably), and have been completely outmatched with both the Devourers and Sha'am.

He expected her to not be upset over being told "You are only this special because you are a pony".. Which is a bit reductionist but given how literally moments ago she told him how she was trying to make their mother feel better about things because their mother currently thinks of herself as weak and/or disabled for not being a pony.. Well he really needs to read the room better on things. It almost seemed like he was quite eager to school her on it to the point where he didn't realize how much it would hurt.
This is the sort of knowledge that would hurt even people whose emotions would be advanced to enough to take it, let alone someone who just had an heated argument about their mother thinking themselves useless because they aren't special in that manner.
Hoo boy, Gahab got killed, and probably a lot of other ponies with him too judging by Gahab's words and the vanishing stars.
That's going to wonders for night pony/human relations.
Did... did we just witness a fucking GENOCIDE?!
