Six years have passed since a pandemic transformed a quarter of the population of the United States into ponies. Magic has advanced far in that time, but its formerly human users will soon find that they have advanced too quickly and recklessly.

I feel sorry for Jessie, she is an expy of Sheldon Cooper with a lot of his issues. I think this is about to go very sideways with this many delegates here.
Throw in shade at the TMNT...
You know what? Jessie you need a crash course in the best era of cartoons
Claiming the a transformed version of her mom would be similar but not the same person is a bit simplistic and kinda insulting to the fact that people change naturally over time anyway. Yes, prevent someone from taking an option for self transformation because they will be different in personality afterwards. Nevermind the fact that she had wanted to try being a pony and finally getting that will obviously cause people to change their behaviour regardless. Suggesting that they aren't the same person has all kind of negative implications. Like suggesting that everyone who became a pony were just bad copies of the original people who died during the entire process, including Jessie (though she's too young to remember it).
It's ultimately an argument against anyone wanting to be transformed, and it invalidates their own desires and choices in wishing to explore other forms provided they were given full disclosure first.

This is a reflection of how Amanda sees things and how Jessie processes what she's hearing. It should be viewed in that context.
Jessie is, despite her intelligence, an emotional 6 year old child who just heard her mom might be replaced. She has already been distressed by her mom's views now this comes in the same day.
Amanda is trying to process what she experienced today and has come to the conclusion she and her human self were two different people because she can't wrap her mind around being comfortable as human. Whether this is right or not is up for argument, but it's how she sees things at the moment.
In her view the human Amanda is dead and gone forever, and she replaced her. That there's no undoing that, and she had no personal involvement in it, but that it happened to begin with was a crime. Amanda would argue what Sunset Shimmer did was a genocide, but forcing all the ponies back to being human would be just as much a genocide.
I am honestly glad that Nocte was studying the babies face so she could show off her grandson in the dream realm rather then not wanting to touch him because he's human. I was wondering how anti-human she might've been and I was fearful that she was trying to avoid touching Dusk as a result.
Tonya's certainly got some good concerns to go about as well. Shimmerists would be quite concerned if humans were to gain power in such a way as it would disprove many of their pony supremecy claims.
Whew! That was a long one!
Really liked the slice-of-life elements, and the character interactions are some of your best yet. Seeing Tonya and Jess really brought out a new side to Jess, and showed more of both characters. Looking forward to seeing how the three different plotlines intersect, especially how the visitors will play a role. Wild's concern with strength is a new one; hints of deeper problems?
"as she made a great bolder like pedestal for the statue to stand upon. Vines sprang up and wrapped themselves around the bolder" 'bolder' should be 'boulder';
As always, excited to see a new chapter! Really looking forward to the big transformation presentation coming up but I quite like how this chapter took a bit of a break from the tests themselves. Was a great way to dial back the tension and see the different viewpoints on what is to come. Also looking forward to seeing how Rarity and Wild get along.
Keep up the great work!
a grate chapter with a strong family drive behind it.
I have not left commentaries in a while. Let me just say: I cannot truly hate those who want what is best for the masses, not even when they have ideologies that clash with mine.
If I lived here, I would not want foals, as that would add to the numbers of potential prey for those unstoppable forces that threaten to end all life. I’d have myself sterilised to avoid the creation of more misery.
