Heh. Knowing ponies that was probably highly scandalous!
Farewell Pinkie, we'll see you sooner again that you know.
To Tufts: got your game face on?
If you want Somebody To Love,
You dont want a Princess,
You want,
Queen.
As for Basic Training.
When the yomps getting you down and all your freinds give a frown, just purse your lips and whistle, thats the thing.
This boop sprang to mind.
9264466 It was! But, you know, when you realize there's not fillies or colts around, you can let yourself laugh at the naughty jokes.
9264679 Bugs are a long way off, almost nine years in the future for this world.
9264699 The boop to end all boops.
9264979
Oh sorry I didn't know there where 2 new chapter today
9264979
... it kinda was when I started reading it.
Still, duly noted!
"Bravo seven... miss."
"Curses! Make adjustments for beacon eight! We shall strike like the Spanish Inquisition!"
"... oh, bother."
Trixie if you loose your wagon to a giant bear don't go blaming a purple unicorn when it may have been two Colts fault
To Ms. Sweetie Drops: Miss drops, for what reasons would a... Bonnie lass, such as yourself, wish to fight monsters? Any particular motivations behind that decision?
"Bravo nine..."
"Well? Is it a hit, or a miss?"
"... I'm still aiming, sir."
Come back next week when Lyra teleports, Celestia has a meltdown, and Tufts gives Joyce a heart attack (And a heartawwtack)! Until then, go watch...
Author is not obligated to post chapter within time given, author is not not (you read that right) obligated to facepalm/hoof/claw/what-have-you at my stupidity,
Author may have a giggle, author may not be bugged mean comments (send those my way, they are tasty), Damaged may shake their head at Wrought Iron (referring to myself in third person and first person so you might refer to me in second person after a second thought), Damaged may completely ignore this if Damaged so sees fit, say "Happily napping in nappies in nappy knapsack" five times fast for fun, get a chuckle somewhere, and enjoy the show!
Yse Trixie all your friends are crazy and your future friends aren't the most sane either.
I feel like jokes and skits based on a speech impediment wouldn't translate well to an unrelated language. Jokes based on (stereotypes of) naming conventions of completely foreign cultures would not fair much better.
I could definitely see Lyra translating Monty Python for a local audience, but I don't think that was the right skit for the job.
I was thinking maybe the dead parrot sketch.
9265526 Ponies have many and varied ways of speaking. What they don't have, however, is a way to say something is dead.
Yes, this reply was a joke all and of itself. Not everything she does is going to go over so well, of course.
Ponies are so dirty minded. Just as bad as humans or worse.

Yeah, there's just "dead," or some euphemisms, perhaps. Not all the creative ways that make the Dead Parrot sketch funny.
A better one would be the Argument Clinic. Or maybe the Ministry of Silly Walks (but that would only work in a slightly more political Equestria where nobles have more say over where money goes in the various departments of the government).
Self Defense against Fruit is another one that would be particularly funny and wouldn't translate wrong.
Though I disagree that this sketch doesn't work in Equestria. Ancient Pegasus culture was very Greco-Roman, and we have no obvious evidence that naming conventions could not have been similar there. (Hurricane and Pansy seem like they could easily be modern caricatures of actual historical figures.)
9269464 She actually did the Argument Clinic on their first night in Equestria.
Self-defense against fruit is planned, shhh.
9269456
Yep! It's actually pretty simple to create such a character, and add a lot of depth to a story with very little effort (though a bit harder keeping track of all the ones you create).
9269476
Ah! Silly me. It's been so long, relatively. I'll probably go back and re-read when I have a bit more time. (I'm at the point where I remember all the important stuff, but with so many stories I keep up with, as well as my own to
procrastinatewrite, things like that slip through the cracks.)9270816
The devil is in the details :)
Hold up, that was Monty Python? Why on Earth did I think it was a skit from one of the Carry On movies? I could have sworn one of those films had a 'Greek' Chorus parade a joke like that, Carry on Cleo or something along those lines.
Introducing human culture to ponies through adaptations can't go wrong! Just be sure to credit where due, those lawyers can be such a hassle!
