Dim is disgusting and I think he is one of the worst beings you ever wrote...
...please, keep writing ´bout him. PLEASE, make he talk to some of our heroes. I would love to see Tarnish reactions to him.
In a more serious note, it´s interesting how deep in his mind is the believe, almost a faith, that he is superior, he is above all primitives but, still, he does not treat then in a bad manner. I can´t explain, but this trait of Dim is very interesting. I was expecting some type of bad words with earth ponies...but, even if he thinks that they are primitives, they treat then in a very respectable manner...
This will sound odd... but right now I think Dim would make a good enforcement Warden. He may not be a draconic pony, but he sure seems good at scaring people enough to stay in the light.
Interesting, very interesting. I suspect that though touched by the darkness, dim is not controlled by it. He seems one that takes situations as they come and judges accordingly. I look forward to reading more of his story.
Hey, I've potentially just committed matricide! Let's stay in the country where I can be apprehended! It's brilliant!
Uh, no. Just no. You've come into this with some poor perceptions of Dim as a character, as reflected by your previous post. Your assumptions will only lead you to dismay and disappointment.
I would not be surprised if one of your inspirations was Elric of Melnibone. The Dark tower reminds me very much of Melnibone, and Dim's situation -- he was in love with his first cousin but fled his decadent society -- is analgous to Elric's. So, also, is his combination of dark charisma and dubiousness about what he sees as a barbaric outer world.
If so, you're Deconstructing the scenario -- Darling isn't quite Cymoril, she's much weaker, as one might expect the inbred and abused daughter of a thoroughly decadent culture to be, and I wonder who if anypony will play the role of Yrkoon? This is interesting, as Elric of Melnibone is itself a Deconstruction of the barbarian-hero archetype: instead of a heroic barbarian who defended a civilized empire; he is a (somewhat anti-) heroic decadent who brings down his decadent empire.
But perhaps I'm reading too much into the apparent similarities?
The horrid thing is that Dim strikes me as more decent than most of his kin. After all, he at first loved and felt protective toward Darling, as of course his family manipulated him into doing. He only turned cruel toward her when he realized she was being used as a tool to produce his children, and he tricked into siring them by his family.
Just a heads up Kudz , the expression Oi, it's only used as a way to get somebodies attention if ya wanna scrap. Think of it as a dilute form of "hey asshole" Rather than a sentence starter :p. Using it casually is a recipe for getting decked by the person whose attention ya tryin ta get.
Hm... Probably this is due to the different biology of a pony... but you REALLY can't get dependent on LSD... Additionally the active dose of LSD is measured in micrograms, some vials would last for AGES. But again pony biology may be at work...
8106941 Not only that, but dim is EXTREMELY decent to those "Primitive Savages", considering his upbringing. I mean he even holds a certain fondness of the Apple. There is certainly hope for him, and hopefully over time he will begin to see more of the light of Truth
kudzuhaiku i have have a question. Why are the Darks and Lulamoon's so special compared to there many many cousins? From the sound of your other stories Luna and Celestia have had hundreds possibly thousands of children so why were the founding members of there families so special to get noble status when nearly all of there siblings became peasants. Did their founding members do something really special or were they made nobles down the line and their decedents are just focusing on that part of their ancestry and ignoring the simple fact it's not that special?
I don't know what it is, but there is something about Dim that makes me fascinated with him.
I am glad to see that you have chosen to continue with this. I look forward to more.
So we can add drug addict to the list of problems he has.

You can't not watch a trainwreck, even if the train is on fire, full of orphans, and about to crash into a pile of puppies.

That sounds about right.
The all-consuming dark is a harsh and unforgiving mistress, but her favors are as sweet as nectar.

Edit: Nevermind, you fixed it.

We already knew "Harsh Winter" had problems, and now we find out about problems on top of those problems.
I love it.
Muah-ha-ha.

Of course he does. One does not mistreat one's servants or livestock (or those that supply you with goods and/or money).

EXCELLENT.

Really, no duels?
And here i was hoping for massive collateral damage.
Or fireworks.

This promises to be an awesome story.

Ah yes, the good old schnitzengruben.
i like Dim, he acknowledges and addresses his ills as a matter of flesh above will, and not mind over matter.

Grunhilda is that you?
So I am liking this a lot.
He regularly consumes that many drugs? Dang.
If you cut everything away, what remains? The lefthand path has the answer.
A geographic entry about the weedverse would be fascinating.

It serves a very different purpose when it interacts with the thaumaturgy glands and the brain.
Oh ja, i am definitly liking this.

Holy crud that's an insane list of drugs. Topping it off at the end with the LSD too, dang.
The first chapter had me interested. This chapter is a noose around my neck. I'm sad that there's only another 29 and a half K words.

They are Luna's Stars.
The Stars will aid in her escape.
