I'd say go with a fusion.
In a way its a death for the both of them sure, but leaving an immortal peace-monger behind after that? That's one heck of a legacy.
First sentence, old friend. First sentence.
6350055 The typos grow bolder by the day!
6350058 And another near the end:
Cindy in bold at the end should be Sandra.
6350083 Also fixed. Penny for your thoughts?
I think a fusion would be an interesting way to go. It doesn't really seem to be a death... but instead a marriage of two souls.
Fusion would work for the best I think. Even if they merged I doubt that they wouldn't be able to talk to each other mentaly.
Two souls inhabiting one body. They deserve to be recognized anyway, and if that means that they have to become one then so be it.
I say let her inhabit one of the children, ether one works.
Argh, this is a really difficult decision.
On one hand, it'd be nice for Cindy to inhabit her own body and experience life as a true individual. However, I understand that she's fearful of being 'alone' and that fission would make them less powerful.
On the other hand, fusion would be a really interesting next step for these characters, a new miracle of existence to discover together. As one mind in one body, they would be fully-realized royalty. However, I'm fearful of losing these characters.
In the end, I think I'll choose fusion. But, I want to hear Sandra's input first. She loves Will, is she willing to let this happen? This would allow Will (or whatever they name themselves once Will and Cindy combine) to take Sandra as a wife without needing to share with body-Cindy. I think this would be best for everyone.
Honestly, this is harder than most choices I've had to make in video games.

FUSION HA!
I've been telling that it's highly likely that a merger (or fusion, whichever fits your vocabulary) will most likely to happen than any other option... So you got a fort vote for fusion.
Also, Silver, did you plan for this to happen on the hundredth chapter? Because the timing is pretty awesome.
6350425 ... Nope. Until you brought it up, I had no idea :D I go where my muse drags me.
6350085 It's your story. I'm just here to enjoy the ride. It's been good so far, so all I've concerned myself with is picking out notable errors...something I do with everything I read anyways.
Anything but a Windy.
Either way I don't Care I am just giving my opinion.
6350692
Seriously, though, I kinda like that name...
6350751
I give you props sir its just I dislike the idea of merging beings.
Whatever happens I'm chill though.
Fuse with Neon. She misses being royal.
6350944 Ceon? Xeon!
This isn't an easy decision to make. Is it better to have Cindy merge with Will, or the burgeoning consciousness of an unborn child? (Well, maybe not burgeoning quite yet. It's only been, what, a month?) Step down from the throne or be forever changed?
Eh. Bite the bullet, Will. You knew this day was coming. Another vote for fusion, but be sure to have them say goodbye first. It wouldn't be fair to the rest of the herd otherwise.
I still want them to stay as they are. But if a decision must be made...
I find it difficult to decide. On the one hand, if they merge they become greater than what they were, retaining the princesshood and powers. But they lose themselves.
It's a decision between power and identity. Self-preservation instincts say to keep identity. But...
I say talk to the others first. This is not an easy decision.
I just had a revelation. They are two separate patterns. If they merged, they'd become even more powerful. However my earlier comment still stands.
As a side note, any plans for the 100th chapter?
Yey for the composite being!
I dislike how so many say they should accept the fusion simply because of power. The point is to take the path that makes all (if not most) happy, the fusion contradicts that. To fuse is to lose both of them, their separate personalities would be lost. Because no matter how similar they are, they are still different.
I say go for the child in Neon, because the only slight unhappiness down that path is maybe Sandra being a tiny bit pissed no one asked her. I do not see Hope complaining, in all honesty i bet the doormat (lets face it, when it comes to Will and Cindy he is, for good reason) would be happy to know he helped them with this problem in some way. (Problem, life decision, conflict, w/e.)
if this question was put to me I am not sure what my answer would be.
Cindy should inhabit the child. I don't really want them to fade away into each other.
Sure a powerful being with a peaceful mindset would arise. Sure it would be awesome to some people. But really, in the end it is death for both, while a "child" remains.
To cut it short, it isn't as romantic and loving as it sounds. It is nothing but nonsense in reality. They can have a child the normal way, when it's time. If this fusion works like a creation of a child...then do it this way, if you have the option not to fade away completely.
Some things to think of with fusion.
If it isn't "zero-sum" then what of William or Cindy is lost?
It likely isn't so much a merger as a "make a new thing, delete existing two"
Cindy hasn't even said if the merger would be completely even. What if her own pattern is stronger? Would William have part of what made him HIM overwritten?
I would vote for a child, it is better to create new potential, than to destroy existing ones.
Additionally, as Roxas pointed out, there is time, down life's path, to rethink this. For example just before William dies of old age, Cindy and he could merge.

Well, I was thinking of it this way: Cindy's kind exist to do this sort of thing. She clearly fears being 'alone' in one body, and it might very well be a cruel existence for her kind to endure. So, fission definitely isn't the option that will make her happy.
Will, too, has been living with Cindy's voice/thoughts in her head for months now. They seem very well-acclimated to each other. I think Will would suffer from the separation as well, after all this time getting used to that fellow mind.
It's a really difficult decision to be sure. I still stand by Fusion, though.
But, of course, I'll be fine with whichever the author chooses to go with.
6352958 now i am not trying to bite your head off with this, ok?
Yes her kind exist to do this sort of thing, in the Void, but in the void they ascend (or so they assume) unless the author directly tells us what happens for sure after that i see this as a giant red flag. This merger was also originally the only way her kind had to show 'love' (not sure what to call that), but in the world their in now they have multible ways, ways she will never get to experience if they merge now. Yes she would fear it and feel lonely at first, but eventually she would get used to it, and who's to say they have to lose the ability to be in each others head? Doesn't Will/Cindy create a link with Sandra on occasion? I see nothing stopping them from creating a permanent link while in separate bodies.
And i agree it is tough, i really DON'T think this should be getting made without Sandra though. Yes it's Will/Cindy's body, but Sandra has expressed her dislike of the idea in a previous chapter, I can NOT believe he is actually choosing with her not there.
FUCK THE HEEEEELLL NAW!!!!!! FIGHT IT MAN!!! FIGHT IT FIGHT IT FFFFIIIIIIIIIIIGHT IIIIIIITTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cindy, the almost immovable object against the irresistible force of change it seems.
