Ah, fresh sticky sex. Just the cure for all of your blues?

There is a lot more than just sex going on there...
That was actually very sweet. I know that normally I give long reviews, but instead allow me to simply use a quote from a book.
- I walked toward her and turned her around. She looked into my eyes and studied them for a moment. I felt her arms wrap around my waist and I pulled her close to me. I didn't know what was going to happen, and I didn't understand the world I was in completely, but I knew that I needed Amber. I needed her more than before, and for that moment I had her. - (Risen: The 'Greg The Zombie' Journals)
In Greg's case he was thrown into the world of the supernatural, a world he had no idea that existed, and once there he realized that the only things that helped him feel somewhat human was his connections. People he had known and loved in life. That included his girlfriend.
The same is here. I think that the only thing that helps Rookwood is being near Luna. I think that having her close, being with her is the only thing he has that still reminds him of being a live. He needs her, and having her, allowing her to sate his desires is giving control to her. It's a wonderful show of trust on both their sides.

Okay, this chapter redeemed the story.
And now comes the chapter that will crush everything, oh I know.

Woah woah woah.
No. That is not the case. I don't want to spoil anything, but that is not what has happened.
Just wanted to kill this idea before it spreads and there is panic and hearsay.

Actually, I'm almost convinced that Violet is Nightmare Moon. Sounds sick I know... But is it easier to feed off of someone when you're scaring them to death, or is it easier when you've made them fall in love with you. The memories could be faked, the dream simply created, and the entire Violet is healing up she's simply sucking the life out of Rookwood. It's a chance for Nightmare to do what she truly wants to do. It's a chance to live. A chance to exist, and who knows what will happen when it's finished. I seriously doubt the Violet Personality will be there. Most likely she will be killed right along side of anyone who could stand in Nightmare Moon's way. This is a way of getting to Rookwood. It's a way of separating him from reality, and she knows that everyone else won't do much.
It's beautifully deceptive.

Not exactly....
Really tough territory to go into here.
So many pitfalls if I try to say anything at all.
Edit, in a way, it is even worse than that. But how exactly, I cannot say. Not yet.

Really? Hmmmm... I shall have to go back , re-read, and see if I can see where this may be heading. In all truth though I have been enjoying this story. It's been a refreshingly dark tale. I've enjoyed it for what it is, and I'm glad that you decided to share it with everyone. It's exactly what a good horror story needs to be. A little light in places for the sense of security, the connection between the characters, the dark impulse/monster/deadly whatever, all connected, all working together in a way that exposes this dark painting and makes us see the beauty in it.

It is also becoming rather claustrophobic to write because of the narrow character focus. I'm freakin' out over here, thinking I need to work on something else for a while. But the trapped feeling helps the process.
Remember, Violet is both the messenger and the message. Just something to think about.
I could be going out on a limb, but i feel the inclusion of "equine" is a pretty big thing here. The last chapter put a pretty big emphasis on the fact that Rookwood, Luna, and Violet's screams were rabbit screams in the dream world. I'm kinda expecting someone to let loose a rabbit scream in the "real" world, now. Just to show that Rookwood is still stuck in a dream.

Paying attention to the details is important.
I wonder how many readers didn't notice the Mr. Bun book and wondered what was going on with Rookwood.
Well, the farther I read the more I realize, you are taking the aspect of shadow to its utmost extreme. I like this, but remember, there are things that hide in the dark waiting for the unsuspecting
I know he's not, and it's good that he isn't, but a moment ago I thought about the torment that Nightmare Moon has been unleashing all over Equestria and the first thing I thought of was the Doctor. If he exists in this in this universe, and if he's there (in my mind with Ditzy/Derpy) then he's been suffering some as well.
There is no end, no bloody end to the things he would have nightmares about. Entire galaxies dead because of the time war. Entire civilizations destroyed by the Daleks, and he was forced to watch. He has face so much death and destruction that if Nightmare Moon was feeding off of fear, off of tragedy then she wouldn't need to look any further.
Makes me kind of glad that he's not in this.
Just a little something that I started thinking about when I went back through to re-read this again.
