Pandora's Box

We all know the story of "A Canterlot Wedding" by now, but what if Chrysalis wasn't the first impostor to take Cadance's place? What if the deception went back a lot further than that, back to the princess's very childhood? When Changelings are involved, nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

[Was written based on pre-season 3 knowledge, inconsistencies with S3 and S4 plot may exist.]

I don't hate this story, but it seems like pieces of this story are missing. Why does Chrysalis need to rebuild her hive? Celestia also seemed a bit OOC to me, but not enough to ruin the story for me.

Yeah, looking back there's a lot I could have done better in the story, especially explaining why things were happening. I think the biggest thing wrong with it is that I had this one central plot line and everything else in the story was written to forward it, (i.e. Celestia acted the way she did not because I really thought she would, but more because it was convenient to the plot, and a lot of detail got left out because I didn't think it was relevant enough, like why Chrysalis needed to rebuild.)

I don't actually remember why Chrysalis needed to rebuild her hive, or even if I came up with a reason for it, and my notes only have what age Cadance was when each changeling took her place, so I'm afraid I can't answer that. I'm glad you don't hate the story, but I can certainly see why you aren't quite satisfied with it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, and thank you for the comment and for reading my story.
