And somehow, through it all, Pony-Me is now complete. Again. · 12:29am Mar 9th, 2023
Pony-Me™: Rebooted
Thank you for reading.
Pony-Me™: Rebooted
Thank you for reading.
The OG Pony-Me ain't got subplot like what I've kicked off in tonight's chapter! This is one of the big parts of what came to fruition after I said that this reboot was gonna combine both the original Pony-Me and the concepts from its failed sequel, Into Equestria.
If you haven't read the new Pony-Me reboot yet, here's a little reminder!
not that it's particularly all that "new" anymore though. :P
Also, Timothy's being re-introduced in the latest chapter, so have fun with that I guess.
writing the same 3k-word chapter twice is both fun and annoying at the same time.
But, the chapter I'm droppin' tonight is a sweet & simple 800-something. Just chapter stockpiling stuff. :V
If you were a fan of the OG Pony-Me and haven't gotten into the reboot quite yet, the chapter that dropped tonight is roughly at the point where Lisa attends the town meetings.
In the original story, there was this whole little sub-plot in the beginning about farming and rations and stuff. I kinda forgot about it in later chapters.
Not this time. In this chapter of the reboot, instead of some random storage shed with stuff in it, we've got actual rations being delivered, in the form of those emergency food buckets that you see in like emergency prep stores and stuff!
Pony-Me™
Twilight thought it was all so real-- the crisp morning air, the warmth of the rising sun, the ponies that went about their day-- it all seemed real to her. Yet, with the breaking of a single connection, everything comes crashing down, leaving a very confused girl wearing a VR headset.
The (mostly) same great cover art you know, with the same ol' characters you love!
(Mostly.)
haha rewrite go brrrr
Of course, I'll have a little slice of my thoughts included in an author's note on the first chapter dropping tonight at midnight (Mountain Time).
Final changelog: (SPOILER WARNING! Don't click on this blog if you don't want spoilers!)
"Twi-light."
Twilight groaned under her blankets.
"Twiii-light!"
Another groan.
And so will its companion spinoff original fiction story. :V
Haha, now where have I heard this before... oh wait, that's it, I said that I was crossing over MLP with my original fiction in my first-ever story!
This is another post about Samantha. Click below for spoilers. :P
For those who aren't familiar with Pony-Me, or are familiar but are curious on how the reboot's dealing with character reveals, check it out below the break.
NOTE: The following snippet is from the original fiction adaptation of Pony-Me that I'm writing at the same time as the reboot. Julie Ashton is functionally the same character as Pinkie Pie for the purpose of this excerpt.
'Cause y'know, reboot's happening and all.
idk.
I just remembered that the old Pony-Me had guest chapters, so I thought it'd be neat to see if anyone else remembered.
anyway ima probably go to bed now. I've got a biiiiig chapter to write and a counterpart chapter to plan.
'cause I'm a leaky hecker who likes to tease his readers before publishing things.
Brushing her teeth could probably wait for later, right? After a near-tumble down the stairs, the mare plopped herself down at the table, staring into the bowl of oatmeal in front of her.
She shook the thought from her head. Now wasn't the time to start going into tangents. She picked up the spoon and shoveled oatmeal into her mouth.
And that means it's teaser season. :)
Have a little sneak-peek at a bit of the new prologue below the break:
:)
Of course, I've also got a good 5 chapters of Splintershard Arc 3 summarized. Just gotta expand those summaries into full chapter plans now.
Hey.
It's been a while since I've talked about Pony-Me.
Now, I know that I mentioned how I was working on a reboot.
But lately, I've been making almost zero progress on it.
Most of what I've been working on these days is my current flagship series, Splintershard.
It's refreshing to be able to write something new again.
But at the same time, I still want to give Pony-Me the chance to follow through with its intended ending, instead of what it currently has.
