In my last blog, I briefly mentioned that it had struck me how alien some of the BronyCon experience was to me in the UK. A couple of people said they'd be interested to see me expand on that, so here goes! Comments, quibbles, questions etc very welcome.

Welcome to Scribblefest 2019! Or should we say: SCRIPTfest 2019!
To put it bluntly, my first MLP convention was a blast. I sadly had to leave halfway through the charity auction, but I would have stayed until the end if I could. Over the course of the con, I was mistaken for Anon five times, met someone erroneously placed on a terrorist watch list, and turned somepony into a raging manticore. Details after the break.
If you're in, or can get to, the UK in October and would like to attend the world's second longest running MLP convention* then you still can! This year's iteration, which will be in Bristol, has expanded capacity and released Wave 2 tickets. More on how to get them after the break.
As it says, this year's UK PonyCon is now entirely out of tickets. With an attendance estimated at around 800, this will be the largest convention in UKPC's 14-iteration history, yet they have still managed to sell out for the third year running. I am looking forward immensely to going to Bristol for this. Maybe I'll see some of you there in October! 
So today marked the first day of the Crystal Fair here in Saint Louis. I did a good amount of stuff and managed to escape without spending too much money. That's for tomorrow 
I met up with a few friends and played a game of family feud with them. We lost because someone didn't guess Chimera! But it was a lot of fun anyway, and we won some concession prizes. I got a Snips figurine!
Been wanting to go to BABSCon since meeting its founder at Baycon, an SF convention. She was a real hoot, knew how to party, and learned how to run a convention in one go by finding the right people to tell her how and by hiring some of the best.

That’s right folks. Life, The Universe, and Everything, the best writing convention there is for Sci-Fi and Fantasy is almost upon us! In two days the doors will be open, the con will start, and the knowledge and geekery will reach critical levels of awesome.
The convention has now announced that it will be in Nottingham Convention Centre on 13/14 October. That's about 80 miles from me and a straightforward, if rather slow, train journey. I've been to the last four UK PonyCons and I thought last year's was the best of the lot, so if I can scrape the £££ together I'll be going. That's as far as my planning can go at this stage, however.
Hey peeps, I'm gonna be talking at HarmonyCon. There'll be a Q&A session followed by a loose Writing Workshop this Friday at 6PM Mountain/7Central/8Eastern. I'll be there with RockstarRaccoon, FanofMostEverything, Shakespearicles, and Mystery Muffin.
There's also another session on Saturday at 4PM/5/6, but I won't be at that one.
Was suppose to be out after I got back from Whinnycity instead the day I'm packing for Crystal Fair here it is, I finally got the physics video done. Check it out if you got a second; in the mean time I'll keep working on Dead Tree edits and have you a chapter 19 hopefully by Monday or who knows I might publish while I'm at Crystal Fair.

I was at UK PonyCon over the weekend. A real live MLP convention. And you know what? It was fabulous. (You can read that in a Rarity or Steven Magnet voice if you want!)
