I was at UK PonyCon over the weekend. A real live MLP convention. And you know what? It was fabulous. (You can read that in a Rarity or Steven Magnet voice if you want!) Quite honestly the happiest weekend I can remember for a very, very long time. So to UKPC falls the honour of being the first in-person con of the G5 era, having previously been the final convention of the FiM era.* The convention's multi-generational setup made absorbing the new gen very easy, and it's fair to say G5 is very popular. There were certainly at least a few people at UKPC who had no G4 experience and who had attended simply on the basis of liking the new film. But whatever the case, it was as I say a glorious weekend. I'm still smiling now.
* If you count Pony Life, the last of the G4/pre-G5 era as a whole would have been Hearth's Warming Con in the Netherlands in early 2020.
Happy to hear you had a good time — and that G5's been hitting it off!
Yeah, UKPC was incredible! I can't wait to see what the g5 special and series does for next year...
Splendid news!

Seconded. Couldn't have put it better myself.
