Given how lackluster Season 6 was, I didn't have high hopes for Season 7. I got the impression that the writers were running out of ideas. Thankfully, my concerns were unfounded. That was something different -- instead of last week's action adventure, we got a much more domestically-focused episode, reminiscent in some ways of the early years of the show. It was particularly nice to get so much of a look at the secondary cast -- Carrot Top spoke, which will please someone... -- and there was even a callback to the series pilot late on. Also, that Rarity look. ★★★

Is anyone else just waiting until most... if not all of season 7 of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is finished and just start watching them when they've already aired so you don't have to wait for next week's episode?

I still hate Trixie.

I'm a bit surprised this one has stirred up so much controversy. I didn't really think it was any more startling on the "digs at certain parts of the fandom" front than "Stranger Than Fan Fiction" last year. More importantly, it was also heaps of fun, even (especially!) when one or two of the jabs cut a little close to home. The song was okay, with a good message but a meh melody. The episode's ending was a bit unfocused, but oh well. Also, Fluttershy. And Rarity. ★★★/★★★★, leaning four.

By some distance my favourite Fox Brothers episode, although that's not saying a lot. I'm not always a huge fan of Discord eps (I've never much cared for "Three's a Crowd") but this one was really nice. Sweet, simple and amusing, and with a really nice portrayal of Discord and Fluttershy's friendship. Talking of 'Shy, it's really nice to see her get a good ep after the meh of "Fluttershy Leans In". Altogether, a high ★★★.

I never would of thought a Walkind Dead Character would be added.

I didn't dislike it...but it certainly wasn't my favorite season premier in general. While there were quite a few good moments...idk...something about these new episodes seemed...off kinda...I can't really explain. Nonetheless I enjoyed them both. Can't wait for next week's episode.

Nothing serious! I simply had a seizure while the obstetrician was performing the sonogram. Lasted about 8 minutes and that was concerning enough (because that legally counts as a Grand Maul Seizure instead of an Petite Maul Seizure...which is approximately a few seconds to up to 3 minutes long). So thankful the health clinic I go to knew how to handle that situation. My s/o was practically besides himself with worry (which was sweet), despite me reminding him that these things happen sometimes

This was better than "Parental Glideance" -- and I loved "Parental Glideance". I don't think I've liked an episode as much as this on first viewing since... probably "A Hearth's Warming Tail". It was fantastic. Can't quite give it an out-and-out five because of one little niggle, but it still has the potential if it holds up on rewatching. ★★★★/★★★★★

Lightning Dust: We haven't seen Lightning Dust since season 3 after she was kicked out of the Wonderbolt Academy. I was expecting and hoping for her to be the culprit in Rarity Investigates, only to be disappointed by Wind Rider. We don't know about Lightning Dust's backstory, nor do we know what happened after being kicked out of the academy. It would be interesting to see what would happen if she and Rainbow Dash crossed paths again.
