I impulse buy things more than i need to. Food mostly, but I've been known to splurge on video games and books as well. I have to keep myself entertained.
I impulse bought Fallout 4. I liked Fallout 3 and Skyrim, so another Bethesda game seemed like an acceptable risk despite it being too shooter-focused for my liking. I like it enough to have sunk almost 200 hours into it despite my qualms.
So far, it would seem No Man's Sky is optimized for no man's PC. Complaints abound about hitching, lag, and stuttering, even on current cards, myself included. NIVIDIA's driver's aren't due out until next week, some are also suggesting it was a recent Windows 10 update.
I'm gonna be patient with this one, wait for a patch or two, because when it's not hiccuping severely, it's damn beautiful.
Might make a new blog series out of this, I'm sure I can find a lot of material for it.
So today I found out about this little event from one of Spidey's runs...

I don't know what Hello Games did overnight, but my issues from yesterday are all but gone.
12 days later, I'm...still not finished with the game, because I'm only playing like 3-4 hours a day and spent a lot of time on side stuff, but I'm in no rush! Besides, I'm making a ton of progress.
Things just took a turn for the sinister.
I beat Marvel's Spider-Man at 3:48 Central time this afternoon.
The end credits are still rolling as of 4:24pm.
I'm not joking.
I won't spoil anything about the endgame, or the ending. Just...
It's a rare video game that makes me break down in tears with its ending.
I cried pretty much nonstop through the entire final series of cinematics.
Also, I love how the stinger was done in MCU style.
You realize the next step up is jumping off the EMpire State Building, right? And not swinging until you are mere fett from the ground. I dare ya!
Didn't advance the plot today, but I did tangle with two supervillains, earned three trophies, and aced a combat challenge! Not bad for a quick session.
Tombstone was like fighting Kingpin all over again, but a lot tougher and inside a burning garage. Fortunately, I now have sufficient skillz that I was able to beat him effortlessly, unlike the many many times I died to Fisk.
More webslinging! More bad guys! A new Spidey suit! And...Spidey's twitter feed?
I'm really really not very good at this game, but I'm having a LOT of fun with it.

Only played for a couple hours this morning and again probably won't get to play again today because I'm busy with stuff, but today's session was ALL story and I'm inching closer to the endgame.
Accomplishments: Took down Vulture and Electro, survived Scorpion's nightmare poison ambush and subsequent harrowing trek through lethal Mushroom Samba.
In which I show everyone just how bad I really am at this game, and also that I have no idea how to stop a car chase.
