I gotta say, some of the ponies in these episodes need to be a little more straight forward without being mean about it, but sometimes you can be too direct, you know? Let me go into detail.
Parental Glideance-
(I had to make an acronym for the title since it's so long)
It Isn't the Mane Thing About You
While not the most necessary of episodes (not to mention having a rather confusing time paradox), it was still pretty entertaining all the way through. I liked the message, the humor was good, Rarity's mane looks fricking awesome. Look at it!
Long after these episodes have aired, I’m finally ready to talk about them! I feel like instead of rushing to catch up by doing three episodes at a time, I’m just going to focus on one at a time. Maybe I’ll be done by the time the new season airs. I hope so.
This week’s episode is: It Isn't the Mane Thing About You
Updating this blog every other week is definitely working better for me than every week, I think. I’ll still try to update every week- because giving myself an inch makes it easier to procrastinate- but I’ll forgive myself if things get too busy.
Welcoe Bronies,
I've finished my latest Review and think, well it's a rant.
Please feel free to watch and comment.
So enjoy my video.
On second look, A Royal Problem
As An Anti-Brony, I watch the show to study it so I know what to make for my Starfleet Series, as well as to badmouth the characters (Not the fans, not the VAs, not the makers... just the show itself)
So, come here every week where I will jot my own opinion of what each episode is like to me (Be assured it won't be very pretty) this for steam blowing.
CELESTIAL ADVICE
Warning: Spoilers from the latest episode, Triple Threat, abound. Proceed with caution.
As you may well know, I always get giddy when my stories and the show's canon align. And with this latest episode, it has happened again (albeit in a roundabout way). But this time, it's more than just "oh, I wrote a thing, and it turns out that thing is canon in the show. Neat." This goes up to a whole other level.
Allow me to sum up my reaction to this episode thusly.
Another sweet bit of character interaction and bonding. Seems like this season will focus on relationships for a while, at least. Nothing much to say for this one, although I enjoyed it very much.
Growing up is hard to do. Especially when you're older sister still wants to treat you like a filly.
To Change A Changeling
This was a really fun episode; the humor, the new character, it was all pretty entertaining. My only gripe is Starlight and Trixie thinking that Pharynx was a lost cause, but luckily it doesn't go unnoticed.
Overall, this was a fun episode!
8/10 Very Good
Daring Done
(disclaimer: I saw this episode early, so if you plan to watch the episode on the day it airs, be warned of spoilers)
Okay, so I didn’t actually finish writing chapter 3 of The Secret of the Crystal Ponies while I was gone, but I got a lot of it written, so yay! It’ll definitely go up before the end of August.
If Twilight hadn’t already planned her family vacations before Once Upon a Zeppelin, she’s definitely doing so now. Honestly, Twilight had all the power in that situation (the passengers came to see the princesses, after all), and should’ve negotiated the schedule. My being angry at the situation kept me from enjoying this episode much. But I did like the recreation of the star reformation at the end- that was cute!
Season 7. The season where things finally started to go downhill for MLP after 5 seasons of pure gold. But despite this season having more mishaps than any before, it still had plenty of soaring highs to still make it a super enjoyable experience overall.
Celestia Advice - Some of the writing is a bit awkward and it sucks that there was a bunch of suspense built up about Starlight leaving then it was just dismissed, but it was cool to learn more about Celestia. 7/10
(I accidentally watched PARENTAL GLIDENCE FIRST, but... eh, as long as I blogged it)
FOREVER FILLY
Hmm, an episode involving the absolute WORST pony of the Mane Six, and a complete reversal of Sisterhooves Social not to mention extreme character contradiction... this has PATHETIC written all over it!!
So we're firmly in the character interaction, it seems. Unfortunately, that means not a whole lot of lore comes out of this that I can see. Have a special one then!
New characters and old characters are brought into the spotlight, at least, and that's fun.
