Another sweet bit of character interaction and bonding. Seems like this season will focus on relationships for a while, at least. Nothing much to say for this one, although I enjoyed it very much.
—Maud does stand-up semi-professionally. And she plays guitar. And she's good at figure skating. That's fun. That's a multi-talented pony. (Which gives credence to her having some form of autism! Well, alongside her alexithymia-like disorder.) And her full name allegedly is Maudelina Daisy Pie. What even is the naming scheme? It's been pretty inconsistent so far, in terms of theme, of occupation-propriety and similar. Anyway looking forward to the future adventures of Dr. Maud Pie!
—"They don't exclude you if you're... different from other ponies." Yup, Maud is relevant. There is so much hidden beneath, and she's such a relatable character for those who either have trouble expressing themselves or properly connecting with other people. I wonder if we might get a nod to the comics which address this issue at some point?
—Pinkie trying to be Twilight for this episode is as endearing as it is awkward. But I like it when Pinkie is portrayed as exactly as she is, even when her cheerfulness and excitement is a tad overplayed. I think she's an intelligent and usually more emotionally observant pony, and I feel like Pinkie's characterisation often reflects this nowadays.
—Last time I remember seeing Ghastly Gorge, back when Rainbow was racing with her potential new pets, we didn't see any of these rock eel creatures. They seem to be a rather recent thing. And now they're added to the list of things that can kill ponies.
—Starlight is super relevant to this season, apparently. She's even more frequent that Twilight at this point. Granted, she is pretty much the new main character, but I wonder what this means for the season, when the arc plot will be revealed?

Thank you, I stand corrected. Although that does beg the question why anypony is ever allowed to go there. They mustn't be aware of these things.
Starlight was probably worried Maud wouldn't think she was cool.
