This story is a sequel to Slide

It's been a couple months since Rumble's brother started dating his classmate's mom. Now saddled with all the jokes that come with it, a thunderstorm he didn't prepare for is just what he needed.

And, of course, there's also her daughter, Dinky.

Perhaps, though, there's more to her than Rumble thought, and sharing an umbrella may show him things aren't as bad as they seem.

Thunderlane had never thought he would meet a mare who would turn everything he knew on love and relationships upside down. He always figured that if he ever found a mare worth dating, she would be a close friend of his who he could talk to easily.

That was before a simple mix-up introduced him to Derpy.

Now on a date with the wall-eyed pegasus, he finds out that sometimes a pony needs another to sleep peacefully.

I told myself I wouldn't bring it inside. I will never bring it inside. No matter what I do, that box is going to stay stranded out on that porch... else I only hurt myself again.
