Twilight returns to Ponyville after a visit with Celestia to find all her friends missing and a strange force affecting everypony's minds. Now it's up to her to figure out where this magic is coming from and put a stop to it. And no amount of gold, humans, true love, auditions, or general happiness is going to stop her!

Lyra has another concert in Canterlot, and this time all her friends are here to see it. But when Princess Luna gets called away, thieves take advantage of her absence to break into the royal library. Their target? A certain artifact of incredible power leftover from one of the greatest spell casters of all time. And when one of their own gets taken as well, can the Elements put a stop to them before yet another ancient evil is released?

It's been a crazy Hearts and Hooves Day for Cheerilee and Big Macintosh thanks to the antics of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. It's been a while since the two have had a chance to catch up, so they use their picnic at the gazebo to talk. Turns out there is a good deal to talk about.

Twilight and her five friends are transported during a botched spell, across dimensions to... Ponyville, Equestria? But not the same one that they knew. Sitting on a bench is Harpsy and Babar. The Doctoress avoids apples from an aspiring Applebuck. And in a library across town, six stallions join their forces as they try to decipher the appearance of filly look-alikes of themselves around Ponyville!
