When Princess Twilight is asked to write up a guest list for the Grand Galloping Gala, she comes to discover that she has missed one vital guest- another princess like herself. How could she forget the princess of creativity and invention?! Celestia asks that Twilight Sparkle acts as a messenger to bring the princess to the Gala after having been absent from everypony's memories for so many years.

Deciding that taking too many ponies to retrieve the reclusive princess, Twilight believes that all Princess Fabricia Gearhart really needs is some generosity. So who better to bring other than Rarity?

Can they convince the shy princess that Equestria still needs the power of creativity and invention?

Faithful knight of Celestia, Sir Spike de Draco leaves Canterlot with his young shieldmaiden Twilight Sparkle to embark upon a journey of stolen pony hearts, spontanious beard-sprouting, dozens of broken teeth and the smiting of evil left and right.

Spike has long since liked Rarity, and when Twilight Sparkle decides to hold a party and she's invited, Spike must decide if he will build up enough guts to tell her how he feels. He is determined to do so, but that has happened before and he's still chickened out.

"Congratulations, Spike! You're the new Rainbow Dash!" Twilight may have said those words in the heat of the moment, but what if it were true?

Discord, spirit of chaos and infinite jest, manages to play yet another trick on Twilight and her friends by making her hasty solution more real than she could have imagined... in his own rather idiosyncratic way, of course.

...But how will the original Rainbow Dash deal with her chaos-twisted, semi-official replacement? And can Spike really take the place of everyone's favorite speedster?
