Short Hand: Starlight Needs Some Sugar · 8:58pm Apr 7th, 2021

After yet another attempt at getting Sunburst to accept her romantic feelings... Yet another attempt that failed horribly... Starlight slams down at the Cutie Map table and sobs into her front hooves as Shepherd and Spike sat playing cards.

Starlight: SOB "HOW CAN HE KEEP DOING THIS TO ME?! I'VE GIVEN EVERY SINGLE HINT A MARE CAN GIVE!"

Spike: "Maybe he's not into you that way?"

Starlight: "HE CAN'T BE! HOW COULD HE NOT BE?! I'LL TURN INTO A STALLION IF I NEED TO!"

Spike: "Dude...chill pill...?" He looked over at their resident human "Shepherd?"

Shepherd: sigh "She did kill me once."

Spike: "That was a different timeline."

Shepherd: "IT STILL HAPPENED!"

Spike: "And now it didn't. So? Go on! You're a harem lead!"

Shepherd: "I'm not a harem lead-!"

Starlight: "SHEPHERD! You're a harem lead! PLOW ME!"

Shepherd: "Uhhh... How about I just go talk to Sunburst?"

Starlight: "NO MORE TALKING! PLOW ME NOW!"

Shepherd: Spritzes her with water "No! Bad Starlight!"

Starlight: "Yes! Yes I'm a bad mare! I'm a bad mare!"

Shepherd: "This isn't working out as I hoped."

"So. Speaking from personal experience, no one's that oblivious. What's your excuse?"
"Starlight is a good friend. But when Princess Cadence and my mother both give me the same piece of advice, I'm going to listen to it."
"And that would be?"
"Don't stick it in the crazy."

Shepherd: sigh "She did kill me once."

Spike: "That was a different timeline.

that's something that would be worth seeing

Starlight was the best thing to come out of the 2nd half of the show. We need more of her.

Yeah. Sadly I've seen something like this IRL It took her flat out telling him what she felt hinting didn't work innuendo didn't work flirting was back and forth gamelike (Friends almost as long as they've been alive).
So she got her Courage stuck in and just took him to their place and told him straight out.
30 odd years later they are still together with a passel of grandkids to boot.
I really think theirs is the kind of life that when one inevitably passes the other will follow shortly after from heartbreak,

This is great.

But I'm sorry, I'm afraid the only acceptable Starlight ship is Trixlight.

Vile heretic, Starburst is clearly the OTP. Your blasphemy will be purged with fire and sword!

This could lead to some Embarrassing implied bondage scenes that turn out to be self inflicted by Starlight.

I like it. This is now my headcanon

*Shepherd looks at Sunburst with a deadpan look* "Well if one doesn't stick it in crazy around here, then NONE of you ponies would exist!"

I've said many times, Sunburst and Moondancer belong together.

Starlight already has Trixie.

It's been pointed out that they would quickly starve to death during a study session.

Ridiculous underestimating bullshit.

Even dolphins recognize when immediate satisfaction clashes with long-term advancement.
Dancer-chan would ram the marshmallow in the little hominid bastard's eye to keep him from peeping while she and Sunburst got it on.

I am badly inebriated now. Pay this no mind.

Please. The two of them could easily alternate castings of Create Food and Water. It's only a third circle spell.

They could, but the question is whether they'd remember to.

As someone who's been through an institution of higher learning... if Create Food and Water were an option, every friend group would have at least one caster capable of casting it. Given that Moondancer successfully graduated CSGU, and Sunburst has the learning but washed out...

Yeah, they'd think to do it. Cleaning up the spoiled food? That depends on your opinion of the ponies in question.
