Hey there... wow... has it been a while.
Heh. Where do I begin?
I dropped off the face of the planet. I... there is no easy way to put this, but... I fell off the face of the planet and withdrew from everything and everyone due to my own denial. With everything that's happened, was happening, and is happening, I had not wanted to accept what was in front of me.
I am no longer with the man I called my fiance. That bridge is burnt and fading away in ashes, as it should. I won't go into extreme detail, but... Our relationship, from the beginning, had been flawed. Severely. I had willfully denied the blatant facts in front of me, the immense amounts of evidence that I had fallen into a relationship I never truly wanted, and... overall, I ended it and to be honest, I'm moving forward and on. I wish him the best, but I... won't miss it. Acceptance is a strange calmness.
2020... was a shit year. For everyone. I won't go into how bad for me, but... I have a lot of fucking learning and growth to do.
I'm getting into a better place. Someone very dear to me was actually the one to make me think of Echoing Silence again with fresh eyes. He's a wonderful person who has pulled me from the brink of insanity again and again, and turns out... he also partook in MLP. So, its a strange coincidence, but... wow. It has been a while and a lot of shit has happened.
Now, for the real question:
Are there still people wanting Echoing Silence?
I know the story is subpar. Its not very well written and I doubt I could write better (I haven't written anything in YEARS, but... the story is one I would like to still tell if people are wanting it. I don't know if I'd do a rewrite, but I might just flat continue it.

I'll be honest I completely forget what this story is about but it's on my tracking list. So at one point I enjoyed it enough to read ever chapter. I would definitely continue to read it if a chapter was posted.
I am! It's funny but just yesterday I was reminded of this story while checking the Twilight Sparkle group, and lamented the fact it would seemingly go unfinished.
I would like to see it continue if you up for it.

If I were to continue, would you want a rewrite from the start? I know a lot of people were unhappy with the pacing of Echoing Silence, and I would like to take that into consideration. This will ultimately fall on my own feelings and decision, but I would like to know how my readers feel! Would you want a rewrite or just continuation?

Piece of advice from someone who's had this problem before, the best way to go about such a decision is to reread your story, read some of your reader's comments to get a feel for how they feel and most importantly, see how you feel about it all while you're reading and afterwards as well. Doing so normally leads to three things, you think it's fine as is and continue from where you left off, think it's fine until a certain part and rewrite it from there, or not like where you were going all together and rewrite it entirely but of course the final decision all falls into you. Personally I like it as is but would also look forward to how you would change the story if you decided to rewrite it
It is on my tracking tab for a reason. I personally think it is very well written, and it tugs at your heart strings in ways most stories can't. I am looking forward to reading more. Need to reread it again though

I'd need to re-read it to give you an honest answer. Off the top of my head the only thing I didn't like was the death of certain important character because it felt a bit too contrived. Seriously, he had so many death flags I called it like 3 chapters before it happened.

And I would advise against a rewrite. That's kind of where stories go to die, writers always seem to burn out mid rewrite. Feel free to go back and rework a chapter or two if something is bothering you, but otherwise I would move forward.

I'm probably going to need to reread it, but I don't put stories I'm not interested in on my tracking. Seeing as this one was, I'll wager I enjoyed it when I read it and look for to possible continuation.

I almost had a heart attack when I read the title. Luckily I'm exaggerating. But the sentiment still stands I love ES so much and I have gotten back to it multiple times over the past years. If you would revive this diadem from the dusty back shelves of the tracking folder I would be oh so thankful.
