    BABSCon 2024

Hi y'all, sorry I've been dead on this site for a while, but for any of those who are still out there...I will once again be at BABSCon 2024 in Burlingame, CA, from Mar 29 to 31!

And I'll likely be in my Twilight or Opaline cosplay. Hope to see y'all there!

Should I keep writing? · 2:06am Jun 26th, 2020

...
I just don't know anymore. I'm not sure if pony fiction is the right thing for me. :fluttercry:

I already considered stopping writing once I'm done with my stories, and even though it pains me to say this, I think you've done wonderfully so far and shouldn't push your limits. If you feel the need to stop, do so. That's the best advice I can give.

It's up to you, you're a wonderful writer, but if you aren't having fun with can fiction, you don't have to continue.

Write as long as it's fun, if you need a break you can always shift to other projects which fire up your passion.

I think you should keep going :yay:

I've been considering leaving for these last few months. I don't know if you have, but that's just me. I have no energy or drive to continue my projects. I've been sitting on a project for the last year and I haven't been able to put anything into it. It just isn't fun anymore for me.

Anyway, that's just my story. Ultimately, it's up to you. If you want to pursue something else, then by all means, who are we to stop you?

And whatever you choose to do, MSCG will always be in my top 10 stories list ;)

If you want to take a break we will be there to support you during this time but I think you are a excellent writer and My Sister Cosy Glows is great but if you don't have the feeling for it you should probably stop. But your short and funnies stories are awesome so please continue to do some.

But most of all continue yours blogs posts, they makes me laughs everytimes.🤣

Writing is a hobby for most of us. If it's not fulfilling, find another. I'd try and finish My Sister, Cozy Glow first, though, leave on good terms. Or if you can't, pass the reins to another author to pen an ending. I'd be willing, but there are probably better candidates.

I criticized that newest chapter pretty heavily, but I don't think you have to ditch My Sister, Cozy Glow. You could rewrite it, or just end the story with Spur running away to meet Twilight. I really love the story, so yes I would say that you're suited for writing. Not that I think we have to be "suited" to be qualified or allowed to do anything. Stop or take a break if it's taking too much out of you. But don't let anyone (not even yourself) convince you you're being judged or not meeting a standard.

I don't write at all, the most I've ever made is paying for a commissioned chapter. But I'm still an active member of the site because I like discussing things and keeping up-to-date with my friends.

Yes keep writing

No writer has ever been able to claim utter perfection. The greatest of authors in history had their flops, their slow chapters, their oddities in how their writing flows and draws attention.

I, personally, didn’t much care for the latest chapter. But I also cared extremely for all the previous, as they were each done in a unique and interesting way— A look into the psychology of a filly struggling with grief and self-loathing for the actions of her sibling.

You may have stumbled. You may feel like a failure. That’s okay— One should regret their mistakes, but one should never be consumed by them. If you quit in the coattails of one, then the last impression you leave is negative, and if nothing else the effort and time you’ve put into crafting this story and the confidence needed to share it deserves a better send-off than that.

I can’t advise you on how to go forward, but I can promise that your work has earned you my loyalty in checking for chapters. Mistakes can be made, but they can also be fixed. And the only way to recover from stumbling is to get back up.

If you feel your time has come, then by all means go. But if you feel you're time is wasted then all the more to keep going.
I'm a slow burning kind of guy, I write infrequently, I make stories with out announcement. And every now and then I wonder "Is what I'm doing worth my time?" And the answer always turns out be yes. If you're stuck in a bind, then make a story about something funny, or make a sad story, hell make something random that doesn't make sense! But to answer your question: Yes, yes you should keep going. Pony might not be for everyone, but you got some talent.

It's up to you, of course, but I'd definitely rather you stayed and carried on!

If writing still makes you happy then yes

I would hate to lose you as soon as I found you :fluttercry:
If the passion just isn't there anymore, perhaps you need to step back a recharge.
If that doesn't work, please don't leave us without so much as a sayonara and goodbye, like countless others. I'd love to see what notes you had for the endings to your stories never finished (no matter what state of progress they're in).

Regardless, chase your bliss whether it may be :trollestia:

Don't fixate on making big, permanent decisions. If you aren't feeling it right now, step away. You can always come back later.
