Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Cloudy and Maud convened in a nearby tent where the rest of the Pie family was gathered. Twilight was fit to burst with excitement.
Twilight: "I feel like I can't thank you all enough for this. This was a perfect opening for the expo!"
Pa Pie: "How could we turn down our beloved daughters, as well as their dearest friend?"
Pinkie: "Hee! Told you!"
Maud: "Yes. I assure you, this is one of the happiest days of my life."
It was said in her usual monotone. Pinkie Pie hugged her happily anyway.
Maud: "Didn't mean to gush."
Twilight: "Oh no, I'm not offended. I'm just so excited to learn more about Earth control! Do you have these techniques written down at all?"
Cloudy: "Certain such techniques are. Many reside in the Earth Pony College of Earth Thaumatology Archives."
Maud: "However, they would not part with any manuscripts for this event."
Twilight: "What? They told me those techniques were hard to find and might take months to dig out!"
Maud: "They lied. The Earth ponies running the college are bigoted morons. They still think the other tribes will try to subjugate them: Or that they might subjugate the other tribes instead."
Pinkie: "Those big meanies!"
Twilight: "What... You're sure?"
Maud: "This is part of why I do so much field study. I couldn't deal with the elitist snobs at the college. Sometimes it frustrates me so much I want to scream." She paused. "Ahhh. Sorry."
Cloudy: "It's been an emotional day for all of us."
Twilight: "Uh... Yes."
Pa Pie: "However, we're willing to share our own manuscripts and writings with you, your highness."
Pinkie: "Yeah!"
Twilight: "Thank you so much! And you don't have to call me that. Just call me Twilight!"
Cloudy: "Very well. We will begin the training after the exposition."
Pinkie: *GASP!* "WOWIE!"
Twilight: "Uh... Training?"
Cloudy: "If you are to learn our ways, you must be trained properly. You are already a member of the Pie Clan via Pinkie's adoption of you as a sister, so you can learn the family techniques without marrying in."
Twilight: "Wait what?!"
Pa Pie: "I am fine with one wife as it is."
Cloudy: "But you must be properly trained."
Twilight: "I... I appreciate it, but as a Princess I already have so much to do-"
Cloudy: *Stony stare* "As a Princess of Equestria, you are committed to its defense are you not?"
Twilight: "Well, yes-"
Cloudy: "You wish to understand all the magics of the three tribes?"
Twilight: "Yes, I am but-"
Cloudy: "And you wish to learn more?"
Twilight: "Absolutely but-"
Cloudy: "Then you will become my pupil. Maud's training is almost complete, and she will take over the school in a few decades. Limestone and Marble are beyond the basics. Pinkamenia never had great aptitude in Earth Control, but she can help you learn other arts. I have missed having a young pupil to mold. One without any bad habits to correct."
Twilight: "I... Well then... Yes, I will. Thank you Cloudy."
Cloudy: "Please. Call me Sensei."
Pinkie: *hugs Twilight happily* "WOOHOO! I keep making the family bigger without marrying or having kids! I'm so gonna beat Limestone at this rate! Welcome to the family, Sister Twilight!"
Twilight: What have I gotten myself into...?
When you realize you’ve been adopted by the Pies, the only thing to do is accept your fate. Sure it will end in almost certain doom, but at least you won’t face that doom tired.
Wait, what has Limestone already done to expand the ranks of the Pies?
I could read that as a lover for Limestone being less than family-friendly despite adding to the family "the old-fashioned way"...
