So...
I just finished watching the finale.
The two-parter I enjoyed greatly. It isn't my favourite two-part finale (they still goes to Season 4). But oh boy that epilogue...
The ships that it implied or outright CONFIRMED TO HIGH HEAVENS. The future version of Equestria and all those characters we've gotten to love for nine years. Or, if you're me, five years. I jumped on a little later than some, to my regret. But holy shit that epilogue had a lot to take in.

All that said, I'm going to miss this show. Twilight especially, it's no secret I love that character to bits. Forever best pony. I have more incoming here, of course. Change continues and I have the next chapter done and ready for release next weekend, I've got a serious collab planned with Skijaramaz involving two of our universes and that cute griffon story will be starting soon-ish. Also, I'll be writing my own contribution to G4's ending tomorrow. It'll be out in the next week or so.
And whatever G5 has in store for us, bring it on. She may not be her, but I have high hopes for this world's Twilight Sparkle.

AppleDash being canon completely fulfills me, I can now die happy.
With LyraBon and Appledash, two of my ships are now canon. Though Fluttercord and Pinkie Cheese also sink two of my other ships. Two sailed, two sunk.
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
This series was great! I am going to miss it. I agree that Twilight was the best character.
Though so you know AppleDash was not confirmed at all. Everyone is just jumping to conclusions on that. FlutterCord was not confirmed either but it had stronger implications.

It's a fair bit implied. They are talking about how they were late leaving because they had to do chores (IE around the house). They are living together, combined with subtle looks they shoot.
They've never directly said when ships are real, it's always shown. Whether it's in your face and screamed to the high heavans like Pinkie and Cheese, or subtle things like Applejack and Rainbow. Also fits with their AppleDash winning comment a few episodes ago.
Enough room for fanfic writers to decide otherwise. But I imagine the ship was intended by the writers, much like RariJack in Equestria Girls.
What I really liked about it is how they left it up to interpretation with Appledash and Fluttercord, you can see it as them being together, or just them slowing down in age and wanting to be closer together
You all forgot a ship that their is no doubt. Lyra and Bon Bon. If you look in the newspaper, Lyra and Bon Bon are getting married.
Also is Generation 5 about Twilight's student? I didn't really catch her name. Also she looked like that Unicorn from Rarity's Boutique.
The AppleDash ship. Rainbow Dash has always helped Applejack with her chores. Is it possible since they're getting older Rainbow needed to help to make sure they were on their train?

If I remember correctly it was an earth pony that looked more or less like Twilight. A Pinkie lookalike that is a pegasus and a Fluttershy unicorn. The rest look more or less the same but with different colors here and there

It was a great ride and I think it is one that we all would ride again if given the chance. Now we can all look forward to the future. I just hope G5 can continue this awesome legacy, it won't be easy but hopefully it will be up to the task.

you know the series finale almost made it so that harmony among the stars might happen in the next 5000 or so years in the future for this series, everyone is getting old, twilight sparkle has a student of her own,
the only thing that is missing is the fact that celestia is not ruling side by side with twilight.
