So some have asked for an update on when the next chapter of OtEaTtW is coming out and whether or not I'm still working on it.
first things first.
I am still working on it.
Yes, really, but there has been a huge gap between work sessions.
The reasons(read excuses) for the delay I'm back in school and it's really intense. I also fell out the mlp fandom for a while and am not up to date with a lot of episodes.
Every time I try to put down a time line the time it takes to write these gets longer so I'm going to try to come at this from a different angle
The next chapter will come out by July 2230. Yes you will need to be multiple centuries old to read this fanfiction, it will be a bragging right and something to look forward to when you hit the big 2 double 0.

We were lucky to even get chapter 1 at all according to him, and it wasn't even out of spite, it was fear that what he was making just couldn't live up to the hype his first game had generated.
Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about not being up-to-date on the episodes, personally I haven't watched since S4 yet I'm still around because of how endearing and lovable the characters and settings are. Work within the canonical timeframe that works best for you, unless you wish to work some of the major plot points into your story which is fine too.
Whatever you decide, this story is super awesome and an update would be super DUPER awesome!

I'm totally fine if OtEaTtW doesn't follow the cannon that was established by the show after you started writing it. I myself haven't watched the show since early season five so I'm fine with you just basing the story on the lore that's been revealed up to the point you started writing. Besides, having to change your story constantly due to the ever expanding lore of the show would just be lunacy on toast.

First, it's great to hear you're back. This story is amazing and I'd love to see it continue.
Second, since you brought up newer material, I want to remind you that the cardinal sin of fanfiction is trying to cram newer material into an ongoing story. It never ends well, so just don't do it.
Third, regarding the later episodes, they're not worth your time. Things have been going downhill since Faust got the boot and have gotten downright atrocious at this point. If you want to get back up to speed, watch seasons 1 and 2 (skipping a few of the messes you're already familiar with) and then stop. That'll give you essentially all the good stuff about the show without the bad and hopefully help you get moving on this again instead of being turned off by the later crap (the reason my own story never made it out of planning).
With the amount of time has passed, I only hope that there will be kinda muted chapters you can just squeeze to post maybe per week. That way you can relax a bit and take your time. Hope your doling well.
